• they convinced their own selves that their lies are true.
Lying without any concern for others is a learned behavior in childhood. |

In a sense they are mentally unstable. Lying became a bad habit. Their decisions will be clouded already. The partner of lying is deception. This is the reason why a liar thinks everyhting is a FAIR game. |

Lying is second nature to people who do it so habitually that, half the time, they don't even realize they're doing it.
It's also easier to catch habitual liars because the inconsistencies pop up far more frequently. Very few have the ability to lie constantly and have all of their lies match up without a gap somewhere. |

Habitual lying will get the person so used to it that he cannot distinguish a lie from a truth and he won't feel the pangs of guilt. It would seem to the person that the lie he spoke of is the truth. Hence, in the long run it comes as natural because the guilt is gone. |

I think people who lie and not think twice about it think that the lie is harmless anyway. A white lie, maybe. Or a false representation or statement on cyberspace, where people are also anyway virtual.
I believe that people are generally decent and well-meaning. That people will not " lie and not think twice about it" if there is a real damage that will be inflicted by the lie. People are not that insensitive, in the real world. Except con-men. But the general population, I believe do not habitually lie to cause damage. |

jealousy..... when we covet something, we often times lie to our friends that we possess this so that we can either show off to our friends or be accepted to a social circle or could be both...... no matter how pure you believe you are, you cant avoid lying to someone coz it is just a innate trait to us humans....... |

1. They don't believe in the saying "Liars go to hell".
2. They don't believe in hell.
3. That's the only thing they are good at.
4. They are in denial, (refuse) to accept reality, so they contradict the truth.
5. They just feel good or "high" in distorting the truth. |

The more you lie, the easier lying becomes. People who aren't used to lying much have a conscience. If you ignore that conscience that tells you to do the right thing whenever you lie, you'll get used to lying and soon lying will come to you naturally. |
