there are times, specially when a particular Q of mine was able to gather several excellent responses, and i really find it hard to make a decision, i am always tempted to put it into voting, and get the burden of judgment out of my hands..but somehow, i dont know, it just doesnt feel right.
In my personal opinion, i feel that choosing my own BA, is something that i owe to my answerers, who took time to read and answer my Q (some of them might've actually done some research), and resolving it fairly is my own little way of saying 'thanks'
But then again, its just me.. |

too many good answers and you're undecided |

There is nothing more thrilling than a BA given by the asker.
It is actually disappointing whenever I have BA contender answer (in my opinion only he he) and the asker simply sent his/her Q to voting.
Sure there are reasons. I once accidentally did when I tried to add details and I hit the wrong key and oops there goes my Q to voting he he he clumsy me!

sometimes you don't know the "answer". That is why you're asking a question.. |

there are really times when i can not decide among several good answers, so to be fair, i leave it for others to decide.
-------
I beg to disagree w/ answerers here who think negatively of us who let our questions be voted upon. Really now, how could u choose your BA when there are 2, 3 or more answers that equally answered appropriately your question? and don't u tell me that there should always be one that's better from the rest. NO! That is not always the case. Sometimes, they equally deserve a BA and so you can not choose! Geez!! |

maybe they're still waiting for the best answer. they're not yet satisfied with the answers. or cannot decide what the best answer is. or suddenly became busy with other things rather than YA |

Almost everybody answered that there are too many good answers that they just cant decide which one really is the best.
This I learned in R&S...they post questions just to annoy people, or those under a different faction. They dont really need answers...they have results on their mind already but they wanted to make their POINT be heard by everyone without accepting any standpoint.
For me, I sometimes have the questions go into voting because I cant go online for that time-being.=P
Hope this helps. |

they're too lazy to choose the best answer..
or
they can't decide which answer is the best.. |

they don't trust themselves... or maybe, they want the people to decide, not just their own... |

That is so like me.
1. Too lazy.
2. We/they already gained an answer from another source.
3. None of the answers is accurate.Or not what they want to hear/see/read. |

For maximum exposure. When a question is resolved no-one really pays any more attention to it. If it's voted on then people again read what you have written. |

It just depends.
Some questions you hardly get an answer, much less good answers.
So more often than not, I leave the q open & extend it to get as much answers. And that leaves a big chance that I might not be able to come back in time to select a best answer & then find out that the question already went into voting. When that happens I vote for the best answer as I see it.
I used to never select a BA, then for a stretch I did. Now I will probably be back to hit or miss.
Just depends really. It's hard to generalize. |

i also wonder why..and i get frustrated if i think (i think) i did a good job in answering a Q then dyaraan..after a few days,it's out there for others to vote.phew..
the only reasons i see are:
1.they don't take their Q's seriously.
2. they are too lazy to read all the answers
3.for the newbies, they still do not know how. |
