In the recent past filipina nurses are being discouraged from coming to the usa. And instead going to China according to a decision made by the president of the Philippines over some conflict with the USA according to the information i read sometime ago in Philippine newspapers. |

its the trends...
just like it was physical therapy a few years back
& then it was computer science before that...
& then accounting... & then teaching...
well before that, just being high school graduates were enough... |

opportunities daw... mga walang kwentang dahilan, ung iba, nakikiuso nlng... tapos after isang semester or so, titigil na.
ano ba yan? kung alam nmn nilang hndi nila gusto yon eh bkit nila ipipilit...
ung iba nmn daw, eh kesyo napilitan lang.. eh? susko nmn! neng, bkit hndi mo ipaglaban ang gusto mo... ainako. baliw.
time will come that those opportunities will depreciate. hndi lng nmn nursing ang merong opportunities ah... helloo?!?! welcome to earth! there are a lot of open doors, yet only few could see the doors, and actually... have the key!
goodluck nlng sa mga feature nurses! |

Although taking up B.S. Nursing is real expensive and entails hard work, the end result is worth the sacrifice. Being a registered nurse is a fast way to go abroad and secure a working or immigrant visa. It doesn't stop there though. It is a stepping stone to getting your family emigrated. |

Sadly our best high school students take up nursing because of the great opportunities to earn more, travel to other places, and meet new people. |

There are more and better opportunities in the nursing profession. It will remain in great demand because it can't be outsourced, like other jobs in the medical profession which require a face-to-face interaction between the service provider and the client. |

Nursing and related medical courses are in demand. Thousands of nursing graduates work abroad to earn much more than they will ever earn in the Philippines. The demand for nurses, caregivers and doctors in other countries are also in the rise for the next 10 years. |

My niece is doing nursing because it will give her a good opportunity to both improve her life and that of her father's. We are helping with her tuition fees and will certainly assist with her re-location on her successful course completion.
Nurses are in demand the world over. |

To get out of the Philippines.
Sad thing is many students take it even when they don't want to because of family presure. I don't think I would want a nurse that did it just foor the money or family presure.
Unlike most nurses that study in the U.S. whom do it for for the desire to help others.
But If my family wasn't rich already I'm sure I would be doing the same thing. |

Most Filipinos want to get out of the country. By taking up Nursing, this is by far one of the easiest ways to get a job abroad and get there legally. Plus it pays good. |

To go abroad, earn dollars, and (hopefully) become a migrant citizen. Not only students but doctors as well take up a degree in Nursing to work as nurses abroad. |

Reason: Big bucks in nursing.
I have an alternative career though.
Learn a foreign language.
It pays more than nursing.
Nurses in US: $23 an hour
Multilingual speakers in US: $50 an hour
Multilingual speakers in Philippines:
P20,000 for entry level intermediate proficiency a month
Fluent mid career anywhere from P70,000 pesos to P250,000 pesos a month |

Coz it's the only easy way to go to the US. Many Pinoys do want to go to the US even just for a tour but only the richest of the rich family are being approved for tourist visa. and of course to earn more. |

They want to go to US and earn dollars..
I disagree with allan y.. IT courses are more in demand than Nursing..its just the IT courses(Computer science and engineering) are difficult courses and will require more technical excellence. the salary is also higher, you can earn as high as $10,000 a month.
Even teachers are more in demand than Nursing..but again, it requires more skills..
Many Filipinos want easy money..(no offense to Nurses) |
