Why do the japanese, korean and chinese people hate each other?

The reason is very simple. Think why other Asian nations were not included in your qn?
Think about the relations between Japan and other Asian countries, namely S.E.A countries, such as Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand. oh we shouldn't forget Taiwan, too.
The relations are good. They don't mix history with politics and cultural exchanges. They accepted Japan's apology statement, signed bilateral treaties and received compensations from Japan, and started to look the future together. They are matured nations.

On the other hand, despite both nation singed the treaty or joint communique and received tons of money, both China and Korea still hold Anti-Japan policy. It is to reduce the risk of domestic criticism and opposition. Check how the B/S (balance sheet) of those two nations are. Both are aggravated very much now. I mean the B/S is not of the government budget, but the balance of international payments. Both hold huge short term loans from foreign countries and high unemployment rate.

Japan's ties with Malaysia and Singapore are very strong.
For example, PM Lee Hsien-Loong of Singapore visited Japan last year and stayed for 4 days. A leader of one nation stayed in one foreign country for 4 days long? Yes. It was not his holidays, but he met many business leaders in Japan.
The relation, not only in politics but also in economy, with those SEA nations are rather "partners" than "friends". We are neither warriors in the medieval era nor college students (developing period) anymore. In fact, Singapore now became 1st country in Asia and good partner of Japan (Check Singapore's GDP per capita in 2007).

Japan and Japanese don't care that kinda "hate" thing. In fact, lots Japanese people are visiting and doing business in both countries every year. If there were "hate" things, the cause would be the childish "Anti" policies of those two nations. Legally all the nations signed the paper already.
I expect Lee Myung-bak's reform in politics. He looks far better than Roh. If he was ousted from the power in his tenure, no bright future would be around in Korean peninsula.

They don't like each other because of their history. Koreans don't like the Japanese because of past history and the brutality and torture of Koreans. Same goes with China and Japan.
They also don't like each others version of the history books.

People of these countries don't generally hate each other at all. If you actually visit any of these countries, you'll find that not only do they get along with each other, they get along with most other nationalities in the world as well.

Governments are distrustful of each other, people are people, they want fun and happiness.

Read up about the Nanking Massacre in the mid 1930's.
That will tell you why the Chinese hate the Japanese.

On china tv there are often movies showing Jap commiting terrible atrocities against the chinese.

First of all, I am mostly Korean and part Japanese. And I am not lying when I say I have nothing against Japanese or Chinese. I have Japanese friends, Chinese friends, other Korean friends, etc. Just because a few Koreans dislike the Japanese doesn't mean all do.
Some Japanese, Koreans, and Chinese still feel resentment towards each other for what happened in the past. Korea and China are still rather distrustful of Japan because they fear it might become a political power again if given the chance. (Look into Japanese occupation in Korea and China.)
I don't know much about the current state of relationship between Japan and China, but in the past ten years or so, Japan and South Korea have been working to build a new relationship. (North Korea is a different story though...)
Still, it's not easy for the three countries to just forgive and forget the past, so here is still resentment among them. But isn't it the same for many countries and races?

actually teens or young adults don't hate Japanese or Chinese.
me, I like Japanese people and as well as Chinese people.

but old people who lived during WWII when there was invasion of Japanese, can't help themselves but to hate Japanese. the one thing that you should know is that they hate Japanese GOVERNMENT not all Japanese citizens.

if your Korean friend hate Japanese, maybe he had an influence from their parents or their grandparents.
maybe their parents hat Japanese. (??)

and about Chinese ,, maybe because they are nearby.
China is a growing country and Korea and China are like rivals..

Just remember that only SOME Koreans hate Japanese and Chinese and there are MANY Koreans who likes Japanese and Chinese people.

i do not believe all japanese korean chinese people hate each other. however i also do believe that a lot of older koreans hate japanese for what they did in the history & i also do believe japanese school system tought wrong material to the japanese students, saying Dokdo island belong to Japan. This might have arose a hatred. but thats all.

These days, young koreans and japanese do not have issues. They are even involved in exchange program, career, education, and etc in each other's country.

I know what you mean, I live in monterey park, calif and there's a lot of chinese people here. Lived with a house full of them for a while. the landlord was japanese and the chinese people did not like him, saying the japanese are no good.

I noticed the chinese people like to watch those kung fu movies from china on direct tv. It always cracks me up. All the actors of course are chinese with one exception, that's the bad guy who is a japanese man dressed in black !!

well, some koreans and japanease people might not like each other because of the government. They had a huge war. Why wouldn't they. But I don't . I don't blame the japanease or chinease people for the war because it was the government that caused all this. I had a chinease friend and thought he was a good person. I don't think that every korean hates japanese or chinease people cause i don't. Any way, don't worry about it dude.
