i worked overseas because:
1. no favourtism:everybody earn own merit for quick promotions (especially in a multi-national environment company)
2. nobody would question me for not being islamic enough through what i wear. certain malay boss finds that the standard office attire (shirt and knee length skirt as sexy). he should be castrated.
3. being a woman, i am encouraged to stand up for myself and speak out my mind and know my rights. (that was why my malay ex-superior got a real shock when he found out that he was unable to trick me into pure obedience recently)
4. i hate office politics. In overseas, as long as u do your job extremely well, nobody would talk bad about u, but in malaysia, your good work ethics/merit does not count. People talk about your personal life and that's how u are being assessed.
5. i dont have to sleep with the boss to get promoted or pay rise.
6. i dont have to lick anybody's back puddy to get promotion/pay rise.
hehehe

the money is good, people respect you there, there's discipline there, toilets are clean, people are polite, people 'Q' up to get into public transport, unlike here people push you like hell and when they get out of a bus or train its like mad cows let loose from the kandang... |

I have my education in another country since young & do not know a single word of Bahasa Malaysia. I would like to work in my own country so after my graduation, I went back to Malaysia in search for a job. Guess what? I was rejected on the spot & the employer didn't even want to interview me because I do not understand Malay. I think this is a blessing in disguise. I am now working in the country where I received my education with better pay & I feel safer here because of the low crime rate.
I wasn't given a chance, it's not that I don't want to serve my own country. |

98% will go malaysia go aboard for better pay and 2 % for experince. if you work aboard the daily life style there is justified your pay and you can save some but here is the case. your pay is not enough to daily/ month life, things is expensive here.
i give you an example... food and thing are cheaper in singapore than malaysia if you dont count the exchange rate. put it in 1:1 on exchange rate.

good one cili padi, i think you say it all...
---------------------------------
for a poor country we are a role model, for a rich country we are nothing. malaysia are smart now that is why we go abroad to find more money, get smarter and dont have to pay tax to goverment so the can waste the money in politican party and pay to those lazy bump rise.... |

I think why people work overseas is mainly due to:-
1) After studying overseas, they intend to continue working as the exchange rate is very much better compared to Malaysian Ringgit. Their pay might be high, but the cost of living in those country too will be high.
2) 2nd group will be those who has no opportunity to make it in Malaysia. Their option would be to go overseas and work for a couple of years and than return and settle down, open your own business etc.
I've never worked overseas, but i've studied in Australia. |

I work in the US now. The reason why I am working here is because the Americans could not find anyone smart enough to do the job. My position is to open up t he narrow mindedness of the people here.
Cili padi... i disagree with you on some points you made. Sex discrimination in the US is a beast itself. I have worked in 6 other countries, including Malaysia, and the US has been very disappointing.
Dont let me start with racism. You are not white... you are nothing. The illusion of non-prejudism is what the US wants you to think. But the heart of it all, its all a facade.
And I am sure that I will be reported abused by some americans, just because they can't take the truth.
Have fun out there. |

no thanks i dont want to work in malaysia
edit: at my workplace there are some malaysians who want to work overseas for the money so they are more well off when they go back home. and some of them never ever want to work again in malaysia coz they felt they are not being treated fairly against the bumiputra people . |

You see...
Its all about the money and very little experience. Most of them come back with the same old mentality and never change. That's why Malaysia has A LOT of foreign graduates who couldn't be bothered to do anything about changing the country's future and leave it to those racist politicians.
Another group of Malaysian would leave this country to work overseas in order to get away from the discrimination and work place politics. Its just common sense... who, with a right set of mind would want to continue living in this snake pit? |
