We have been conditioned to think water tastes good because we take it everyday; like the air we breathe and the food we eat, water is essential for survival. Our body is 70% water, and life as we know it cannot exist without water. |

Actual nearly all water does in fact have a taste created by the dissolved minerals in it. Try drinking distilled water, that is truly tasteless and hence very bland. |

It's not that it tastes good, It just quenches your thirst, so your mind tells you it tastes good |

As organisms, evolution causes us to desire what will help us survive. Drinking water is essential to surviving and staying healthy, so even if it doesn't really taste like anything, we respond positively to drinking it. :] |

A good question. Perhaps because we are used to it, we don't wonder why it tastes good despite the absence of any flavor or taste to it. |

It is a thirst quencher and even with all the minerals added to it, water will still have no taste whatsoever. By mixing or adding something sweet to give it that extra kick will just enhance it with flavor. Have you noticed when you are no longer thirsty at all, the water does not appeal to your taste bud anymore? Also some people find cold water to be more thirst quencher than room temperature water. visa versa. |
