well i object to those answers, well i'm a filipino 2 of course,
pilipinos are not just the one who are needy, it's not good to judge one's race, people nor character...

we have are own identity so do other countries, each country hide's their own dirty secret, but ours is open, so u can see the different side's...

is not about the colonization or being corrupt, every country have one, in every country their are good and bad, so please dont look at the other half..

i'm proud of being a pilipino becoz i have my dignity in me, i know there is always good in a man,

lets face it filipino or not filipino, the # 1 problem here in this world is poverty..

so the best thing to do is look to the mirror and ask urself,,,
have i done good, or is it good enough for me and my fellowmen..

neediness is just a normal thing now a days,, growing technology attracts people you cant stop the hype...
but i remember one said that technology will kill us..

i know this is divertional answer but i'm a bit offended..
we are all victims of our greed, every race...

And I think that's it. The classic issues of Latin America (U.S. influence, an excessively influental Roman Catholic church, corruption, and an elite that refuses to allow the development of a middle class) are all alive and kicking in the Philippines.

There's so much space in the question, and in additional details that you leaving for granted. You want us to read your mind? You need people to let their imagination run wild? Are you a provocateur? If your question addresses the whole world, "why are there so many poor people? Can't we help them?" then I'm with you in spirit, but if you're saying "Filipinos are poor because it's your fault", then you got another think comin'.

we all need something that we cant afford by our own, not only filipino but all people in the world..baby..yeah...so there is a word called "help" so that other provide or help us to our daily needs.

I think the question should be,Why is the Philippines a poor country?because not all Filipinos are needy, if you want to use that word. Majority of the Philippine population however are poor and most live a hand-to- mouth existence. I venture to say that the problem stems from the inability of the government to create a more efficient tax collection system in which the object is to use the proceeds to provide funds for small businesses to proliferate and thus provide more jobs. More jobs mean more disposable income to buy goods that will initiate businesses to spend more on capitalization and so on so forth. Also the government should discourage monopolies because it kills competition and fairness in the marketplace which will stunt the growth of the economy.

because they are mentally colonized by the white people. filipinos have no identity and think they are inferior to everyone. they even voted for a president who was an actor and had dropped out of high school. thats how much they let the media influence them.
