I don't think cats actually like the taste of mouse. They just like hunting them. (It sounds horrible I know, but my cat hunts spiders too and I know he doesn't eat them.)
It's a good point, though. |

WHAT ???? And teach them to be lazy instead of doing their job chasing the rodents away? Unless someone develop a mouse flavored cat food that they would chase to train them, heheh
probably, there isn't any in the market because it is not marketable or feasible for the processor and those feeds available now are just meat scraps of fish and other meat sources. To grow them exclusively just to make feeds is not profitable. It's just that simple. |

it's actually not the taste of mice that cats want but rather the price of the kill |

because there's no one who makes mouse-flavored extract. duh! |

it isnt the flavor (or the taste) of the mouse that appeals to cats. its the chase they enjoy and the pounce & attack tactic. |

And how do we know what a mouse tastes like? Cat food experts would have a difficult time creating a mouse-flavored cat food without anything to base the flavor on unless one would be bold enough to try and taste what it's like. yikes! |

I guess it's the sign of the times. Even cats, pet owners and cat food manufacturers now want to be politically correct. They all desire to peacefully co-exist with everyone and not offend others. Besides it makes good business sense. |

How do you know there isn't? Have you ever eaten a mouse? :) |

Hmmm...Basically the same thing goes with "bamboo flavored" ice cream.. I hope that someday someone will come up with such a wonderful idea. It will be a hit for sure! |

Mouse flavored cat food - I love it!
How about some worm flavored bird food?
Maybe some "mailman" flavored dog food will be popular too! |

most cats don't like to eat mice, they just like to chase them |

There are no mouse flavoured cat food as long as PETA exists.
Who wants to grow mice in their labs/farms and later kill and process it for cat food? |

Probably for the same reason there isn't a cat flavored dog food.I think my cats would prefer a sparrow flavored cat food anyway. There is a food taster at the cat food plant that actually tasted the stuff. I think he would want a significant raise to have to first eat a dead mouse and then to taste the product to see if it tastes the same. |
