bomba is government servant, kan...
the volunteers simply come; government servants have to follow strict procedures:
first call all kedai kopi to assemble the work force
then determine where the fire is
then determine the extent of the fire
then choosing the apropriate material to fight the fire
then fill in all the necessary forms
then send the forms for approval and signature (might entail another call to kedai kopi to find the bos)
then wake up the trainee driver and instruct him how to drive the bomba vehicle
then.... oh, the fire is already out? OK, let's have a coffee, we really have merited it by now! |

I have faith in Malaysian Firefighter.
The truth is ... whoever nearer will arrive 1st.

Don't know about that.
But I'd personally called Bomba a few times; twice bushfires (yeah, in Malaysia) in the hills next to my house, snake in my bedroom, streetlight in front of my house short-circuited and on fire.
Each time they had responded promptly.
My sincerest appreciation. |

Maybe they took lessons from the Ulu Kapit police who will arrive at a pub fight 20 minutes after the fighting has stopped

because of the traffic jam the Bomba always arrive late ...but in the news/berita they will announce " pasukan Bomba telah BERGESA ke tempat kejadian dan berjaya selamatkan mangsa dengan masa yang singkat" .... hahahah what a joke !
lol @ effendi ....agree with hushpuppy, the credit should go to the public .. |

Because the volunteers arrive fast but half prepared or come with a "tong"(pail of water). The government fighters come fully prepared and equiped.(They first go to a Sungei( river) to collect water, then run their Bomba round the kampong(village) asking for direction, before we see thwe smoke and fire and come to it. HaHa |

Well said Hush, And well come back.
You have to remember, the Volunteer don't get paid, because they like what they are doing, helping others.
Where else, the Pak BOMBA get paid, so they WANT to choose the intensity of the fire before they act. The bigger the fire the slower the action. |
|

Bummer again
|
idk about that either but the fire fighters always rush to the scene..i know some firefighters and they really help people so it is unfair to justify that all the fire fighters are that slow |

My neighbour's house... one road away from my parents' house was on fire. When the official bomba arrived, 8 houses burnt by then. They climbed into the burnt houses when the fire was out and stole the jewelries. My neighbours were devastated. But then that was many years back when I was still schooling. Now I'm not sure how the response is since I'm not there now. |

Most probably "pasukan bomba suka rela" nearer to the scene...
Wat ever it is, fire fighters do better work n faster than policemen yang asik lepak at 7 Eleven. |
