Apologetics will try to explain all the scientific stuff about pork, which is mostly, but not always true. However, the only reason why we don't eat it, is because Allah forbade it. There is the wisdom behind the prohibition of pork in Islam and Judaism and to some Christians (yes, pork is banned in The Bible) - it is one of the most disgusting meats available, apart from the pork tissues being shredded with fat, pigs eating their own excreta and carrying various parasites. So that is what is wrong with that meat.

Contrary to your statement, it's not exactly necessary for pork to be cooked, but it must be prepared in some way, Italian prosciutto is uncooked dried pork leg.

There are some other meats forbidden for Muslims, such as dogs, cats, predators...

To people who hail from cultures that have primarily pork-based diet, such as East Asians, that may come strange, but think we look at you as Westerners look at dog-eating Koreans. I don't see why should it be an issue if someone doesn't eat certain meat, as some intolerant people try to spark, as you won't find Muslims forcing Chinese and Hindus to eat beef.

Besides the type of meat, the meat for Muslim consumption must also be slaughtered and prepared properly. Chinese chicken (with neck pricked) is not halal, nor is jhatka mutton.

Probably that's the reason why in many countries Muslims dominate the meat industry, and since halal meat is allowed to Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and atheists, and to certain extent to other religions (halal is not necessarily kosher...), it's more profitable to have only one (halal) slaughtering line in an abateur. In some EU countries almost all poultry on the market is halal.

In folklore terms, eating the meat of the pig is said to contribute to lack of morality and shame, plus greed for wealth, laziness, indulgence, dirtiness and gluttony. Others say that it was Paul who rescinded the law forbidding pork to humans, in order to appease the Romans, who enjoyed the taste of pig-meat. Many excuses have been given, but none are very sound

Pig's bodies contain many toxins, worms and latent diseases. Although some of these infestations are harbored in other animals, modern veterinarians say that pigs are far more predisposed to these illnesses than other animals. This could be because pigs like to scavenge and will eat any kind of food, including dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta (including their own), garbage, and other pigs.

Influenza (flu) is one of the most famous illnesses which pigs share with humans. This illness is harbored in the lungs of pigs during the summer months and tends to affect pigs and humans in the cooler months. Sausage contains bits of pigs' lungs, so those who eat pork sausage tend to suffer more during epidemics of influenza. Pig meat contains excessive quantities of histamine and imidazole compounds, which can lead to itching and inflammation; growth hormone, which promotes inflammation and growth; sulphur-containing mesenchymal mucus, which leads to swelling and deposits of mucus in tendons and cartilage, resulting in arthritis, rheumatism, etc.

Pigs are biologically similar to humans, and their meat is said to taste similar to human flesh. Pigs have been used for dissection in biology labs due to the similarity between their organs and human organs. People with insulin-dependent diabetes usually inject themselves with pig insulin

Every creature was created by Allah for a purpose. The Prophet always encouraged being kind to animals. Although we should not eat the meat of the pig, it doesn't mean that we should hate pigs. We should show them the same kindness as any other animal, and not abuse or torture them. Pigs score high on tests devised to determine animal intelligence; in other words, they are very smart. It used to be that Europe people believed that pork would taste better if the pigs were kept in a state of filth, but this is not the natural inclination of the pig. When left to their own devices, it is said that pigs do not like to soil their sleeping quarters. As for their tendency to wallow in mud, that is done mainly to keep cool.

Tapeworms may transplant to human intestines as well by consuming untreated or uncooked meat from pigs or other animals. Many of these parasites, including the notorious trichina worms that causes trichinosis, are specific to the pig, or found in greater frequency in pigs.

More than 1400 years ago, the Muslims knew that the pork is harmful and filled with bacterias, only to be known by the Westerners after they learn the truth few hundred years later.

They don't find it tasty, just like some people find eating spiders and whatnots not tasty. We all have our preferences.

Pork is one of the best meat in the world. You can cook Ba Ku Teh, Sasau, Sanyuk, Ko No Mee, Pan Mee an infinity of delicious mouth watering food.Crab and prawn can also be consider unclean those creature are also known to eat human and animal waste. Talapia fish are known to eat chicken poop, there a lot of chicken farm being built on top of talapia fish pond even in department of agriculture in Sabah that is why i don't eat talapia fish
