but anyway, now the culture people like to go to indian shops to sit in the middle of the night, so they just following the trend the do their business.

24 hours? Correction. Not all. Some states only allow less than 20 hours for business. Yes, its about the money, and if more than 20 hours and with football attraction, will always attract the crowds and the patrons. I need to eat too and sometimes, I'm hungry after 2am. Where can I go? Mamak 18 hours restaurant.

A lot of mamak and indian shop open 24 hrs cos'

a)they have enough indian muslim workers to work 12 hrs shift
b)they are paid low salaries unlike local ones
c)their food mostly last quite long throughout the day
d)most of their food are quite reasonable with TV throw in as a value added service which can attract many patrons

However, one thing i find out on most mamak shops it is not hygienic as the day gets longer.....

Actually, the got shifting rules... some work on morning duty till evening and some at night till early morning... chinese didnt do that coz they need rest. you know, their best worker, the cook cannot work 24/7.. Malay, they work till 9-10 pm and some till 12 pm midnight.. All this are depend on that area, if you being the only customer come at 2am, what is the logic for them to open??

Becuz Indian shop are good at keeping their cost down by 'recycling', employing very cheap labour plus they got 24 TV for you ...

'Recycling' here means like they pour back the kuah you didnt finish for your roti kosong ... cheap labour is from India .... For the TV, long time ago it was only Hulk Hogan and friends, now it is EPL and you name it ...

they know how to take a advantage..which is they still open for business, when others shop is close at the same time they will earn some extra moneys.

bcoz indian never earn enuff & if they have money they wil spend all on liquor & get drunk... where else malay ther r too lazy & government support them so why work so hard... chinese pula the food it expensive that why they earn much at day time & can rest for the day...

Anywhere else in the world as well, same pattern Indians work extremely hard in their shops, all down to migration to these places because of poverty generations ago and is inoculated in their offsprings.
