Why people waste time asking questions here instead of asking some real people?

just wondering. so don't hate me.

how can you say that people are only asking here and not among personal interactions?
how can you tell that it is a waste of time asking here and not asking friends in person?
my thoughts would be it is because there are many choices here to take and most of the time, people who don't know you personally are able to give better answers to your problems than people who know you cuz they either become too objective or subjective.
haven't you noticed that in a game of chess, or other, the viewers have better plans and moves that the player themselves. It's because being relax , free from tension or stress makes us better performers and it is the same here somehow. When we are too close to the elephant , we fail to discribed what it looks like , we have to stay away a bit to see them. That's life. Easier to give advice to others than to ourselves.

For your information, all answerers here are "real people".

Probably because this website gives you a wider range of people to whom you can ask. Sometimes people are embarrassed or afraid to ask certain questions, and they can do so here anonymously. And lastly, it is interesting to see what concerns other people and discover that other people might be asking the same question(s) you're asking. :D

Real people? Hmmm! Guess I am an e-people

In YAP, you get a lot of answers from people on a different perspectives. We're all real people here.

Melvin
Sometimes, "real people" in the "real world" are hard to find, especially when you need one. For example, you might not have friends who are very knowledgeable on a certain topic, e.g. rocket science. That's where YA comes into play. A well placed question in the community can receive many great answers from different perspectives you may not even thought of. There's this one question I asked about the correct pronunciation of a very technical term on a subject that I'm studying on my own, and sure enough someone very knowledgeable on the subject gave me a great answer. How to say a word correctly is one of the most difficult things to find on the internet, especially if you can't find it in the dictionary.

In addition, even though the Internet provides a wealth of knowledge on almost every conceivable subject made by man, nothing beats the exactness of first hand local knowledge and experience of another individual. There's this one particular question I asked because I can't find the answer anywhere on the Internet, and sure enough someone who lives in the area in question gave me a very thorough answer.

Because it is not easy to find a person in your neighborhood who can answer your question.
But on the net, there are a large number of ppl who can share your questions from all over the world.
Why don't make the most of it?

jd
I come here to talk to real people and learn from them. You don't always have to answer to learn.http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=OC7sQfr9VCE&feature=related

You never know what you will see .

it costs less, and beside, the answerer--s are real people...

When you ask questions here, you get varied replies from different people with perspectives as varied as there are nations on earth. Yes, even when you ask only here in the Philippines section, because we do have compatriots who have been assimilated in the cultures of their host countries. When you ask a circle of friends, you will have fewer options.

Secondly, answerers here go to the extent of doing research to be able to give the askers a Best Answer. We all feel good when we are able to help and know that our answer was the best help available.

Don't worry, I think that your question was in the minds of half of those who visit this site, but are uncomfortable articulating that quandary.
