did it ever occur to you that it could be love? did it ever occur to you that it might be the guy's maturity that attracted the young woman to him?
personally, i prefer older men but when i say older, 10 years older than me at the most. why? because these men are mature, sensible and not insecure. they are not threatened by the personal achievements of a sophisticated, self-made young lady unlike some young guys who are immature, insecure and possessive. these men exude substance and confidence, not boyish bravado. |

Well I am a younger man who has fallen in love with an older woman. My wife is 19 years my senior, and when we met I was 19. I don't think its a matter of yuck. To be honest, its good to have disparity in a relationship. My wife was much more stable when we met, more responsible with bills, and level headed. I was very romantic, outgoing, chatty, and loving. Together, somehow our weaknesses seemed to disappear and only our strenghts shined through. In any marriage a couple have to decide whether or not they are willing to accept each other's faults and respect each other's strenghts.
Sexually there were definetly no yucks. My wife gave her heart and soul to our relationship and I gave mine right back, and that is what love is really about. So go yuck yourself. |

Isn't it obvious? These young women prefer older men. For whatever reason, it's what they want; no man has the right to judge them. I know of some young women who marry men very much older than them, sometimes almost like their fathers' age. And still they live a happy, normal life. Sometimes older men prefer young women, too...good for their ego, you know. |

Within reason there are various reasons for this. Haven't you ever heard that love is blind? These women should not be judged based on who they choose to love. On the other hand, twenty-year-old girls with 65+ year-old men is disturbing and most likely is done out of desperation. |

My wife told me that I am everything to her. Meaning: I am her Husband, Father, Brother, Best friend, Spiritual advisor, Financial advisor and more.
Maybe some of these old men filled a void in the young woman's life. They give her something she never had before.

In most cases the bigger age differences are driven by greed. A lot of women would rather have a older, richer, "established" man. Meaning she already knows he made partner / director and doesn't have to emotionally support his climb up the ladder. It opens up a certain lifestyle to her. |

I have been inundated with a flood of support from Filipinas and Foreigners who are angry with petty small-minded black-hearted people who have been attacking young Filipina-old Foreigner relationships unchallenged for years. These evil people often only have the courage to speak out in Visyan and hurt defenseless young Filipinas. Now, normally non-confrontational Filipinas are speaking out. The following email from a proud Filipina is typical of this new Pinoy voice that will not tolerate this abuse any longer..

“Hello, a good day to you. I am an avid reader of ****** Chronicle… I would like to react to (the)” Everyday Heroes” column by James KOJAK Hughs. I am a filipina married to a foreigner. I agree with what he has written in his July 22 ,2007 column. I would like to (stress) not all Filipina-Foreigner relationships are fake or ugly. Not all Filipina(s) who marry foreigners are “gold diggers” or just want to go out of the country in search for greener pastures. I know some people who are so shallow minded, judgmental and (vindictive) about us Filipinas married to foreigners. My relationship with my husband is built on love, trust,( and ) respect. My relationships with … past Filipino boyfriends didn't work out. I wanted to find my happiness; I wanted to love and be loved. What is wrong with that?... Being married is being happy. What is” wrong” (are these) people who think all Filipinas married to a foreigner are prostitutes and gold diggers!!”
In the past three years, I have been told of hundreds of these cowardly attacks made against innocent Filipinas. Filipinas, who have had to stand silently and unflinchingly as the vilest of comments were directed at them “IN PUBLIC!”
If some Foreigner had said these things to a Filipina married to a Filipino, the foreigner would have justifiably been attacked and punished. But these malicious cowardly attacks have, up to now, been silently tolerated. Maybe that silence has finally been broken. I applaud Jinky and the other Filipinas who refuse to apologize for loving and honoring their foreign husbands.
