My parents live with me and I'll be moving to live next door to my mom-in-law very soon (with my parents in tow). This arrangement is ideal to my hubby and I. As for ourselves (we have sort of discuss it), hopefully by the time our kids are grown up, the 'p/s' is available. And that my kids will still remember the filial piety teachings we instil in them and come visit us often. *fingers crossed*
Or, if I strike it rich, I'll open one, so that you all can come and live. We can have lots of fun with Q & As. Lols..! |

If i am 65, lost my spouse. I guess i would rather stay with my children. If i have grandchildren even better. In the mean time i might want to find another girl friend.
I am agree with you, our government didn't create a retirement place for the senior citizens. Part of it is due to our culture. Senior citizens are more intent to follow our own traditional value. |

I'll stay at my own place for a while then go to my children place for some times then go back to my own, and keep doing it till i die.
But i can really tell until i actually reach that age. |

The world is full of people who want a variety of things.
Asking the government to create a place to cater to one group could require all to comply. Private sector already has senior communities, and for the rich, they can buy into exclusive club settings.
I only want the government to do one thing, defend my boarders, (heck, i'm already doing that), and deliver my mail, (heck, i'm doing that also, two out of two)
as for being at my own place, that is my desire. |

If I was able, it would be staying in my own place at a retirement community. Stay independant as long as you can. |

b.) stay at my own place. I prefer freedom & independence though it would be nice to drop by my children's place from time to time to play with my grandchildren. |

I would say stay at my own place but near to my children (if I do have).
p/s : stay at an old folks home is not a Malaysian style. Please don't be mistaken. It is some of the Malaysian way but cannot represent all of us in whatever way. |
