China since it is way bigger and more choices in places to go in rather than Mexico. However, I would also like to see the culture and the children of Mexico to make me realize how materialistic us Americans are. I would like to see the customs of both places. I would choose China though because I have already been to a poor country such as Nicaragua.

I have been to both several times, and China is much more interesting place to visit.
Fewer criminals, no drug traffic, no guns, except the police.
You can't drink the water either place.

already been to china, i'm trying to hit all the continents at least once. however i'm thinking mexico is still technically north america so that won't count as south america anyway. i've never been to mexico but i don't have a huge desire to go there.

i'd actually feel safer in China. I hear about people going to tiajuana for the wrong reasons and getting robbed or beaten by the cops. I'm sure chinese cops would give you a hard time if you were there trying to buy drugs or hookers but i would expect to be treated fairly by chinese police and courts, where as mexico it seems the cops go out of thier way to rob you and will hate on americans.
