Local driving licenses offer these options, you just have to check the box at the back of the card.

This is from the HUMAN ORGAN PRESERVATION EFFORT, National Kidney Transplant Institute:

1. Blood - Blood donors are always needed. Did you know that you can safely donate blood every 8 weeks? In the Philippines, contact the Philippine National Red Cross at (02)527-8392, (02)(02)527-8393, (02)527-8384, (02)527-8394, (02)530-0049, (02)527-3595 for Metro Manila. You can also donate at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute's Blood Bank at (02)924-3601 to 19.

2. Bone - If you are going to have total hip replacement surgery, you can donate the bone that is going to have to be removed from your body. To donate bone, you can call the Philippine General Hospital Bone Bank at 521-8450.

3. Bone Marrow - Did you know that your healthy bone marrow could save a life? To inquire about Bone Marrow donation, call the HOPE office at (02)924-0680. The HOPE at NKTI can also be contacted for other organs to donate at:

Yes, I would. I did this form to be an eye donor years back already. And I would like to have the rest of my organs be donated when I die, as well, but I don't know how I could get that card saying that I am willing to donate. Anyone here know anything about it? Share the information... Thanks!

Definitely, yes. I myself is an organ recipient. I am so happy and blessed that there's someone who undoubtedly and unselfishly gave one of his organ to extend my life. And If by chance I would be in that scenario,I would definitely do the same thing.

it sounds really good in theory but i don't want some multimillionaire receiving my organs while a more deserving person dies for lack of one,i was recently made aware of a particular case in the u.s. where a poor man who had always been a model citizen,always worked and provided for his family,a heart transplant would have saved his life but he couldn't even get on the waiting list because he couldn't afford the operation ,at the same time a convicted murderer in prison received one free of charge.

Absolutely. Anything for the current and next generation to benefit is the least one can do.

Yes. I'm an organ donor. In CA you mark it on your driver's license and tell your family that's what you want. I also have a living will that specifies what I want. I don't want all of my organs taken and I don't want them used for medical experiments, but one or two is fine as long as they actually go to living donors. You have to specify that or they can take your organs just for experiments.

I've heard & KNOW (EMT's) of stories where they'll let you go, if they can't contact your Family IMMEDIATELY, in an Emergency, after an Accident, because they know you are a Organ donor!
OH and B-T-W, 'Mx2007'....HOW will you or your Family KNOW...are they gonna check your Body for (WHICH) Organ contents.....?
It 'all' sounds "a BIT over the Top & Immaturely IDEALISTIC", to me!
Kinda "GHOULISH" too. Keep it up and with 'Cryogenics' and by 2100, we will have Dr. Frankensteins LEGALLY...creating People from body Parts......hahaha.....be careful.......ewwww......be very careful!
