Sometimes I do the 'motivated forgetting',but I don't think this is healthy psychologically. So it's ok to remember and be sad than have an Alzheimer's. |

Happiness is a voyage. Think positively for all sititaion, It would not happen if it is the will of the Lord. |

reminds me of that poem "Remember" from christina geogina rossetti..
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
i love that :) |

Id rather be remembering something and be sad because at least I will know how to learn from my mistakes and never do the same thing that I am aware that I will be sad of |

I can never forget nor would I like to be sad.
Let's put it this way, I'd rather accept, take the pain now, move on and be happy.
Admit it, you can never be happy unless you accept and you can never forget unless you forgive. |

It depends.
If it's going to affect your guilt, I rather remember and be sad.
Because I have to do something about it rather than allowing it to haunt me forever. |

Life moves forward. Let your avenging angel do the remembering. |

Yes, I would. But sometimes, I can't help remembering the sad things or moments in my life. It is in recalling them, from time to time, that reminds me I am not infallible - that I am simply human and as such, is prey to weaknesses and frail emotions. It is in remembering them that provides me strength to continue on my life's journey. |

there'll be enough sadness ahead, therefore whenever possible, i choose to be happy. i'd much rather forget, to attain closure and move on. |

To be happy and forget is clinically unsound. Means a possibility exists you might forget to breathe.
Therefore, it is preferable to remember even such tragic events in life(e.g., that last bottle of beer is gone), and be sad about it, for it reminds you to buy replenishment. And once drunk, you are once again rendered happy, forgetting whatever it was that made you sad, which was the thought of liquor running dry in the first place.
Rather a vicious cycle this life is. |

it all depends on the situation and incident that you have been thru,so its a split of yes and no to your question |

I would rather learn and move on, but given that it is not part of the choice you have given above, I would rather be happy. not so good to be sad. strive to be happy and comfortable, even with the sadness, and the sorrows, and the failures, strive for the learning and the opportunity to have learned.
be happy, smile and live life fully. |
