i'm afraid i'm one of those "na mababaw ang luha" (someone who cries easily). i couldn't help but sniffle at romantic lines, sweet love songs, goodbyes scenes, etc. isn't chick flick the best?

IndyaBelle
An amateur actress myself, during my student days, I can only relate to, and empathise with the actors' enacting and emoting talents - as a result of which, I can only shed tears while I watch an actor hamming and shamming his/her way through a sequence !
:-))

I am the epitome of the term "mood swings", so I have to admit that I often avoid sappy movies because they *always* make me cry. I'm not a crybaby or anything, I don't cry over personal situations, but seeing familiar characters, and watching them get through difficult times, often makes me empathize with them enough to actually feel what they're going through. The last sappy movie I watched was actually "A Walk To Remember", and after I damn near embarrassed myself to death from crying too much, I swore to never watch another sad movie in public, ever again. ^_^

i am to horror movies

I watch movie to be entertained and laugh and thrilled. Not to cry. Aside, all Filipino movies are the same. Love triangle. Rivalry, Revenge, rags to riches. Nothing educatonal to stimulate your mind. No artistry. Inferior cinematorgraphy

Don't watch Filipino movie, it dumbs you downn. Waste of money, waste of tears most of all it's too embarassing to watch Filipino movies.

it was not really a sappy movie but 'the lion king' and 'the land before time' made me cry, ek, hehe!!! i guess i emphatized with the fictional characters (who were animated animals for crying out loud!) when they lost their parents since i can just imagine the grief and agony i'll go through if ever i lose one of my parents...

i did lose my mom a few years ago but that's another story..God bless her.. ;)

i am stoical on scenes of grief, destruction, separation or other negative scenes but teary eyed on scenes of reunions of parted friends, agreements of peace with former enemies or praises to God scenes.
funny part,in life, i sometimes get a cold witnessing weddings of people i don't even know, teary eyed too witnessing individuals who convert to islam.

anna m
i watched my girl & i. i was teary eyed for 30 minutes. who wouldn't emphatize w/ a person who will lose a loved one to cancer at such a young age?

Yes. I may be a natural empath, if there is any such thing.

But, blimey, I can't remember now a single movie I saw ....

Perhaps, I'm blocking traumatic experiences, do you think?

I use to. Then I got tired of it after I realized that my emotions were being manipulated by others and I decided to take that power over me away from them.

Yes, all the time which is why my husband shakes his head each time I see a film that breaks my heart. He can't understand why I have to see it if it only makes me cry. Men can never understand women.

Good question!
Yes, I do. I do cry on sappy movies.
The weirdest movie that made me cry was "50 first dates" - which stars Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. It was supposed to be a romance comedy flick. And yet there I was, laughing and yet crying!
Their love story was just very touching. I kind of wish someone would love me the way Adam Sandler's character love the girl. :)

Purple Tactics
The only movie that has actually made me bust into tears was "House of Wax" with Paris Hilton... they were tears of laughter at the bad acting.
