I like pao cai, hei mu-er, ma po do fu and... I don't know what they are called.... the little dessert pumpkin cakes with the red bean paste inside. Oh and there's this restaurant off of Wangfujing Ave in Beijing that serves only jiao zi (dumplings.) I liked the shrimp ones and mung bean and mushroom ones and instead of soy sauce, I dipped them in the brown vinegar. As an appetizer, I liked their salty cold cucumber salad.

Those are my favorite authentic Chinese foods. As for "American Chinese food" I guess I'd go for Singapore Mai Fun.

Those fried crab and cheese wontons with the sweet and sour sauce. Sooooooo delicious.

Or potstickers! Or sweet and sour shrimp, shrimp with lobster sauce, or really good hot and sour soup. Yummm.

it depends on wat kind of mood your in. say u just got dumped, you may want to eat egg drop soup. or say you have a hot date, and you go out and eat at a chinese resteraunt, you may want to get spicy food. It all depends.
