why not 'your opinion on malaysian tv show?'

they suck big time, they are not funny or even informative. I am tired of the slangs they use and their monkeyish act like scream here and there. most of the time i dont understand what they are talking about coz they talk too fast.

Well, thanks! I worked on one of the first Malaysian reality TV shows, "Search for a Supermodel" and we were very proud of it. Of course, nothing produced since has been as good!

It sucks, but it is surely as good it goes and it gives the average Malaysian some 'hope' for something more and creates an avenue for improvement and creativity. It also stimulates mind at some point (as most of us here who criticizes it), it could be used as a stepping stone for fresher, more 'ideal' kind of Malaysian reality tv show...

Bottom line is... it sucks, big time... Sorry... The talents are there, but the mindset is still not established well enough. The Chinese calls them 'sam-pat' and the Malays call them 'Ulu' for their behavior as explained by Yuna... so, it goes back to each and every one of us again at the end... :-)

By the way, PLEASE, for goodness sake, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop those vote-based reality/game shows. Its either the voters don't know how to vote or the participants are buying votes or they have too much mobile phones to vote (a recent discovery from some ex-participants).

You know how EASY it is to vote? Just buy a 10RM sim card and buy as MANY as you can (use some money to roll)... then ask your relatives to vote for you as much as they can afford (in the case of Daniel Malaysian Idol ---he admitted that! --regarding his relatives voting for him and stuff...)

Simple ways to do the trick (a 'winning' strategies employed by some finalists in vote-based reality tv shows):

*Your fan base (establish them, BUY them... etc.)
*Sim cards (get about 50 of them or better, get MORE... the more the merrier as it costs only RM 500 for those RM 10 Sim packs)
*Relatives (with some 'love' and those old stories you can bring up "come on lah, I used to help you last time mah", plus encouraging them to get extra Sim cards like you did)
*If you're Malay, you'll get some 'extra' pengundi hantu to add up to the sum so you'll win over the Chinese and Indians who are participating in those gameshows (its like one of those Bummyputra quota system in the Exam Syndicate)...

That's how it works, and don't ask me how I know, please... LOL

I watch some of the local reality shows.
However, where there is SMS voting, I do hope that the judges get to vote on at least 65%. As some of the answerers have mentioned, it goes down to mentality......and I think we still have a very long way to go as far as voting is concerned in such shows.

I do find the ''So you think you can dance'' voting system good.
At least the judges picked out the Top 6 or 4. Then, and only then, did the public voters get their votes in.

The same goes for "Project Superstar".....judges have a higher vote than the public. That is good.

All the singing tv show is almost the same as one another..often only the first season will produce good quality contestants (example jac m.idol, faizal oiam) and then it started to deteriorate as the season goes on....other kind of reality show, hmm i love Wht Woman Wants..very entertaining show and cast is interesting.currently im watching the firm..not bad quite a good show

Cannot stand to watch local TV - poor programmes a lot of the time but worse than that is the fact that the adverts are longer than the programmes. Even Astro getting bad.
