4 days in sydney. without driving more than 1 hour, what would be a perfect itinerary? 2 toddlers in tow. tx?

We are foodies, like to take things slow and easy and yet would like to keep the children happily busy. Anxious that it might be too hot though and would rather not be in the sun all day. Possibilities?

You could catch a train, no traffic hassles & the kids might like the sights too.

Go to The Rocks, you can do a walking tour, there are nice restaurants, pubs and shops, sometimes markets depending on when you're there.

Botanical Gardens
Darling Harbour and King St Wharf has nice restaurants.

If you like the beaches you could try the northern beaches, eg Whale Beach, Tamarama or Warriewood. Bondi Beach is popular with tourists. Or Cronulla is on the south side.

For shopping try the Pitt St Mall in the city.

Further afield there is the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley and Central Coast.

Say you are staying in the CBD, around Pitt Street Mall, here is a sample

DAY 1
Darling Harbour (15-20m walk from Pitt Street Mall)
lots of fun things going on around in the harbour - rides, face painting, playground, restaurants, shopping centre, fountains, chinese gardens

Walk 5minutes past the Chinese Gardens to Central, there is a marketplace there, and a really good ice cream parlour, Cold Rock

DAY 2
Toronga Zoo or Luna Park
Get on a ferry from Circular Quay, a 10min walk from Pitt St Mall to go to the zoo or Luna Park

DAY 3
Catch a train from Martin Place (5m walk from pitt st mall) and hop off at Bondi junction, catch a bus from bondi junction station to bondi beach, theres heaps there.

In the nighttime, the Rocks Ghost Tours offers a child friendly walking ghost tour around this historic district. the rocks is a 15m walk from pitt st mall, the kids won't get scared on the ghost tour, there are a lot of friendly dress up ghosts

DAY 4
Ferry from circular quay to manly, it's very similar to bondi but less people, its great seeing the harbour from the ferry

Really good fish and chips at Manly, and an aquarium

hope this helps you!!!

enjoy sydney

Bike riding in Centennial park is fun. The rental bikes have toddler seats.
