A good gift for a host family I'll stay with for a few days in Australia or New Zealand? |
I'm going as a student ambassador to New Zealand and Australia for about 3 weeks. A few days will be with a host family. Any good, inexpensive (they suggested $5 or so) gifts? I'm visiting from Illinois, U.S.A. |

It might sound cheesy but a fridge magnet is always good. They can think of you when they see it. As mentioned, something that represents your state is great. Visit a local tourist shop (the kind that you would never go into on a regular day) and have a look around. Think about the kind of cheap but nice thing you would bring back for a friend if you were on a budget. I'm sure you'll find something nice and it is only a token, it doesn't have to wow anyone. Enjoy your time when you get here =) |

How about something like a tea-towel or a coffee Mug with something from your home state printed on it. Or maybe a calender for next year with American wildlife or scenery printed on it |

bring something from that represents your own country/state, a small ornament that they could put on a shelf or sumthing to remind them of you |

People love stuff from the US. How about t-shirts. Like white sox shirts, or ones that say Chicago. |

definitely something that represents your self, your school, state or country. a polished rock or shell, class photo, your own art/craft work will do - does not have to be a purchased item. Look around your room. |
