When you pack what you may have to take w. you, don't forget your mobile chargers.
Pack in advance of any warnings, because the fire can come faster than you realise.
Keep wet bedding or curtains on hand.
Take food for any pets.
If there's no other option, at least get out w. your life and those of your loved ones. And don't leave it too late!

84 confirmed dead, over 700 houses destroyed, and them numbers are certain to rise over the coming days.

This is offocially Australias worst bush fires and is an absolute tragedy. my sympathy to all those people who have died, are injure, lost their home or have lost family members

108 dead and rising, 750 house burnt and rising. Basically the North East of the State from Kilmore to Marysville and moving up into the Kiewa Valley area. Also North and South of the Princes Hwy from Nar Nar Goon to Bairnsdale, and the Western Highway around Horsham.

My deepest condolences for those who died and sympathy to those who lost their homes needlessly.

Society and govt must do more to prevent the fires, esp if these were likely to be caused by campers or mischievous youngsters. Are there adequate systems of checking, patrolling, safety measures,forest maintenance, etc? Is there a safer policy on the planting of trees and building of houses?

It is heart-wrenching to hear of deaths and loss of beautiful homes so often, again and again. Something effective ought to be done, maybe a better selection of types of trees and distance apart from one another, to be planted? A remake and Action Staions! are necessary.
