No, we all live in the outback we all hunt and ride kangaroos everywhere... Of course we have supermarkets in Melbourne, we also have the biggest shopping center (or mall depending on where your from) in the southern hemisphere, Chadstone.

G'day,

Yes Melbourne does have supermarkets:
Coles & Bi-Lo (www.coles.com.au)
Safeway (www.woolworths.com.au)
Aldi (www.aldi.com.au)

Hope this helps. Welcome to Melbourne :)

Yes, of course. The 2 big chains, Coles & Safeway, usually have a branch each in every suburb, plus there are many smaller, independent supermarkets. They all have online shopping & banking available too, so you don't need to go to an automated teller machine to withdraw cash. There are many 'specialty supermarkets' too, though they are usually smaller shops & 'ethnically themed' e.g. Japanese supermarkets, many large Asian grocers, Arabic & Middle Eastern shops, Italian or Greek markets ... the list is never ending. Plus there are a number of fresh food markets with an amazing variety of goods at very reasonable prices.

Enjoy!
