It depends where you are from.
If you can cope with severe droughts and water shortages, bushfires, flies, venomous snakes, sharks, cyclones, deadly spiders, Johnny Howard, overadvertising on TV, crocodiles, then come.

I think it's a fantastic place.... sun, sea, friendly people, great food. Check out the following link to my panoramic photos from all around Australia: http://www.360travelguide.com/results.asp?StartNum=1&CountrySelect=Australia&LocSelect=All+Locations

You MUST be american! Man, is Aussie worth a 20hr flight, yet you would drive 20 hrs+ to see a canyon or Vegas or similar. Its the number one "most wanted to visit" and the number one "most wanted to visit again" country in the planet, its as big as the USA but more beautiful and with 7% of the population AND its surrounded by stunning countries on your flightpath, like New Zealand or Thailand.

Do i think its worth you taking the 20hrs time to grace us with your presence? Oh pulleeeeze do... Stay home that is. The place is fully booked right now.

Well worth the time to fly there. There is such a range of things to see and do and the landscape and climate changes so much. You should not miss a change to go to Australia.

I know a friend who lived there he says don't go not worth it

oh yeah - if you like beautiful sunshine every day, beach babes/boys (whatever you prefer) in nothing but bikinis all day, world #1 beaches (and im not just saying that its true the world voted!) great theme parks then Australia is for you. Go to Brisbane and then the Gold Coast, the Gold Coast has about 5 major theme parks and the best beaches and the locals are great! oh and about the flight - sleep!

"Anyone been down under?" - of course! Millions of people have.
"do you think its (sic) worth the 20hr + flight??" - well, if it is not, why would the millions of people come over?

I live here - so , of course it is worth it! Best country in the world!
(And NO! we DO NOT talk like Mick Dundee or the late Steve Irwin )

20 hours, you mean to tell me that people can fly there the navy told me we had to go by ship and it took , much longer....but as to your 20 hour flight question...i fly very often to korea / and japan, on the first leg of my trip from atlanta ga. to "nha trang, vietnam " and its not so bad... and i find my reasons for not wanting to go home again , have nothing to do with the length for the plane ride.. have fun , live alittle, don,t ask , do... explore, enjoy, investigate, learn , teach , and above all , i wish for you the time of your life.... so just go already ok...

Yes it is worth it!!....I have been 3 times, and loved every trip. With any luck, I might go back in 07...........The trip is long though....I had to get up and walk around, on the plane, just to see if I remembered how to walk!...........Qantas offers specials, just watch for them.

Liked it so much I now live here.

Great weather, friendly people, huge variety of stuff to see and do,

If you like a relaxed lifestyle, worth while visiting.

But.... it can get very hot, very humid, local beers are average, do not drive in Sydney.

Come for a visit !
