Australians are very proud of their heritage, even though they have a much younger history than most countries. Every town there has its own museum. Research what there is available where you are - check it all out - the historic stuff, what is happening now. If you are a foreign au pair, then spend your Mondays and Tuesdays doing the tourist bit - go see everything.
Look out for organizations in the things that interest you. Join up, make some friends. Wouldn't Mondays and Tuesdays be great days to meet up with them, for coffee or a meal out? Even the salsa or other classes? |
