Australia is an incredibly big country; it's so different, you're bound to find something you love about it because there's just so much about it. I've just spent a year there; six months travelling and six months working in Sydney. I loved it! Where are you from? Because you can get working holiday visas over there, which is what I did.
What are you into? What do you like doing? Coz I think I could pretty much recommend anything for anybody in Australia!
Lady Elliot Island has the best snorkelling ever, it's such a beautiful amazing place! Uluru (or Ayers Rock) is amazing, so much Aboriginal culture! Melbourne is a fantastic city, Sydney is pretty cool too! If you want to do a tour around there (which I think would definitely be the best way to do everything besides the East Coast) then try these: http://www.adventuretours.com.au looking at that website will probably get you really excited! If you have myspace, send me a message and I'll add you so you can see all my photos and I can answer any questions you might have or anything! http://www.myspace.com/emmas_adventures
Hope this helps! |

I'm an Aussie (that's what we Australians call ourselves)..It's hot over here so if you love warm weather and lots of beautifull beaches ..you are in for a treat...We call it the lucky country because it's beautifull, laid back and it's pretty peacefull...I can't tell you more unless I have some specific questions....feel free to email me...Australia is very diverse so I can't really put that much info on here... |

Australia is a vast country you can travel for months around it and would only see a small part of it. It is a very diverse country. From Out Back and isolation. Harsh conditions to ideal . Beautiful Beaches to dangerous seas. Tropical to snow. Big city wonders. Awe inspiring nature. Theme and wildlife parks. Night clubs and outdoor adventure. Multi culteral to fair dinkum Aussies. Aboriginal culture .Islands of beauty. Snakes. sharks, crocodiles ,spiders and flies. |

Australia? Well what can I say. I came here 39 years ago from UK and have no regrets. You can find whatever it is you are looking for in any lifestyle as it is so diverse. The Aussie humour is a little different and they will try to "stir you" to see your reaction, but as long as you "give it back " to them they will love it. They have a slightly rebelious attitude to authority as I think this is a throwback from their convict days. If you make a friend in an Aussie then you have a mate for life and won't be let down.
Perth is a very clean city and the climate is great, but the distances are vast if you wish to travel around interstate but as countries go, best in the world. Be more specific if you want more info. |

I've been to Perth and Sydney. If you're planning to stay there when you're older, I advice you stay in Perth. It's more laid back. Sydney is a big city, shopping and nightlife. |

no matter what you gotta go to Ularu - Ayers rock central Aust. Awesome- i dont use that word lightly- magnificient spectacular Alice springs and surrounds great experience. Sydney is THE city to be at. Dubbo Zoo-west NSW, Blue mountains festival,
One of the things that grates on ausies is v loud american voices in public (why so loud? attention seeking? or innocently insensitive?) any way b aware. have fun |

I live in australia and was born here. I feel very lucky. If you dont mind the heat in summer then you will love it here. We are friendly people. The place is really beautifull there is so much I could tell you but theres not enough room in the answer coloum to tell you all the must see places. We are surrounded by beaches, have heaps of rain forests, mountains, beautilful cities. You have to come you will never regret it. |

A good start would be to read something about Australia first. There is an excellent book called "Down Under" by Bill Bryson that will give you some great ideas about Australia. |
