First of all I am Australian so yeah...

It was a funny episode just like they make fun of other cultures... If people didn't find it funny they shouldn't watch it...

Even my mum ( WHO SAYS SHE DOESN'T LIKE THE SIMPSON'S) found it funny..

If people watch the Simpson's they understand that it is a comedy show and often picks out funny aspects of cultures to turn into entertainment...

Many of the aspects in the episode were stereotypical anyway so that makes it even more FUNNY and GREAT.

So I think that many Aussies were never mad in the first place...

EDIT: an Aussie tv comercial makes fun of american's not knowing what a ute is... so it is a 4X4 car http://images.google.com.au/images?hl=en&um=1&sa=1&q=4x4+ute&aq=f&oq=

or
http://images.google.com.au/images?hl=en&um=1&sa=1&q=ute&btnG=Search+Images&aq=f&oq=

It is an Aussie thing

what? who said we were mad! i though it was funny!

My friends & i always say:

"thats not a knife....THIS is a knife!"
"thats not a knife...thats a spoon?!"
"oh i see you've played knify-spoony before!"

LOL always cracks me up! hahah

I'm Australian and I love that episode, I think it's an interesting take on the typical Australian Stereotype. The only bit that I found offensive was the bit about how we are all thieves because of the first Australian settlers and the poor accents and child abuse (the 'boot'). But it doesn't upset me at all.

Anastasia
It was completely inaccurate but I mean the simpsons isn't an educational show, i found it funny although I'm not a big fan of the simpsons. I am not mad, neither is anyone I know.

Green Goblin
I loved that episode. It was so funny.

We shouldn't really be mad cos The Simpsons is all about satire and humor, and it makes fun a lot of other cultures/race/ethnic and countries (even themselves, Americans). Who cares? It's not like it only made fun of Australia.

LOL. They made us sound South African.

We Aussies have a great sense of humour, it was a total inaacurate representation of Australia but it was very funny! I love the Simpsons!

Power Flower
I was a bit miffed that they made fun of our booting policy. And that the little kid in the beginning hopped on a bike to check his neighbours toilet... most country kids can drive a ute by the time their 4!

I loved that episode!!
I don't know anyone who was mad about it.
I don't have a favourite stereotype from the episode, they were all hilariously funny!

molly
Most Australians can laugh at themselves could others say the same look up "The Chasers war on everything America" on you tube its good for a laugh.

think about it this way
the simpsons not only make humour about Australia but also other countries. Whatever it is, it is still one of my favourite shows.

The only people who actually cared about that was the Australian media.

I really couldn't care less.

It's a cartoon for goodness sake, there are better things to worry about.

lol the stereotypes were sooo bad that its funny. the accents were shocking the boot thing was ridiculious the criminal stuff was stupid. but put together it was hilarious, only the media cared

Amber
AHAHHA WHATS A UTE?!
aha.

well anyway, i thought it was a bit annoying that everyone in other countries will be thinking australians all live in the outback 100 kms away from anyone else who are thieves or whatever.

but i got over that about a minute after i saw it..

Nobody takes offense in Australia about pretty much anything.
It was just another episode for me with some ridiculous stereotypes, lol

of course we don't ask for coffee by saying beer!!!!!

we have plenty of coffee here, just like anywhere else, and only drink as much beer as anywhere else.

a ute is a sort of truck/car thingy. see this link
http://www.auto-rent.com.au/ute.jpg

and the worst thing about it was that it made Australians out to be stupid, even though our intelligence is far superior to that of Americans. We do not have a giant boot to kick people as punishment. it's totally ridiculous. GOD IT MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL. basically the entire episode was full of ****, not a single thing is accurate. if you honestly don't know what a ute is, and if you're gulible enough to believe that we ask for coffee by saying 'beer' then you are clearly the more stupid one.

Future Eagles Mummy!!
The only thing that irritated me was the shocking attempt at an Aussie Accent!!

its a stupid show so how cares

Xtina
Yes. We are,
and the worst error they made were the shocking accents and the stereotyped view of Australia and the people
