I've been all over the world (including Antarctica). And in all my travels, I've never met a friendlier or more accomodating nationality that the Australians. (Seriously). I don't find them pushy; I find them "unreserved;" and some may view that as pushiness; but I certainly do not. "No Worries."

Fair crack of the whip mate

Im a Yank and in my opinion Australians are far from pushy...they are some of the nicest people that I have come across ..so much so even married one of the buggers ;) ......

krazykat
hard question to answer being an aussie girl.... my answer would have to be, no more than other nationalities... remember there is good and bad in every race/nationality/religion etc....

TMLeaf Fan
Not at all. I met many Aussies this past summer and found them to be very friendly....and man, could they drink!

I agree with the other ten thousand posters.

Aussies tend to be extravert rather than pushy, and are generally great people. I like Aussies, even if you are thinking about becoming a republic. :)

I have to agree with krazykat.

I like to think that us Aussies are pretty laid-back, with a no-worries attitude. But there are good and bad elements in every society, so it's hard to say it's all black-and-white.

I have never noticed it. I think that they are very pleasant. New Yorkers and Londoners are defo pushy!

If your from Melbourne or Sydney you may come across that way only because we work in such a fast paced environment. But as a rule Id say we're not pushy

Depends on the Aussie. General experience is that if the person has travelled, they are not...if the person has NOT travelled, more likely so.

When I lived in Britain, all us ladies from all different countries would talk about the differences in the different guys, and aussie men always came up as #1 or #2. The aussie ladies (newcomers) would always say how untrue that was, that aussie men were pushy and loud and rude. But, after living there some time, they would start to agree with us and say it must be that all the good ones go overseas :-) I think travel just changes your outlook on things a bit. I experienced the same thing with Kiwi men, the ones who never travel are obnoxious.

No i don't think we are at all from experiencing my travels...maybe Kiwis are just unorganised lol. but someone described us recently as a nation on prozac..... i think we may be a bit lazy and definently easy going compared to other countries i've experienced.

Pushy, don't think so mate.
Aussies are pretty laid back, however I guess you might come across a few.
A few being the term, unlike the norm.

You can't generalize someone by where they come from. There are pushy people everywhere

Generally I don't think so but like any case you have a few exceptions

I'd say that it would be better to ask if city dwellers were more pushy than more rural folks....people in New York or Sydney are more pushy than people in smaller farm towns in either country. In my experience, the pushiest people I've met are French Canadians.
