I think "old know all" is right - please go take a geography lesson.

Australia is NOT in Asia.
And NO! Australian/NZ are not Asian.

Indigenous Australian look totally different to Asians.

Cheers

Hey there from NZ, no we are not in Asia, we are a little country right down the bottom of the world near the Antarctic/South Pole.
Also Australia are our neighbors to the west so they are not part of Asia either, we are in the Continent of Australasia. And no Aborigines are not Asians either, they are native Australians.

hmmm, australia and nz are in the Asia/Pacific region of the globe. Since they are in no way attched to the continent of Asia itself and indeed Australia is an actual continent, then they are Australasian. If you want a different title, then they're a part of the Oceana.

Kris
my dad is from australia and he isnt asian

Australia and New Zealand are absolutely not in Asia. Because they're in Australasia.

Australia isn't in Asia......

no on so many counts- listing them would be exhausting.

No, we're just a big island under Asia, majority of Australians are Anglo Saxons, then you have ethnics after that (Asians, Middle Easterners, Africans, Europeans, South Americans and etc)

Aborigines have originated from Asia, hundred of thousand of years ago, same with natives in NZ and pacific Islands.

p.s I am half Asian. ;)

Um No! Someone should have gone to geography at school. you would then discover that neither Australia or New Zealand are in Asia. While both countries have Asian immigrants we are not all Asian.

I think you need to go back to school.

no all Australians are not asian, a good percentage of us are though, please remember australia was originally used as a penal colony by the british and for quite a while we had a white australia policy which meant you could not immigrate unless you were british or white. most of us are of caucasian descent. technically australia is part of australasia which includes australia, new zealand and southern asia (the islands mostly) and aborigines are a race totally to themselves, they have dark chocolate coloured skin and do not look anything like an asian

No , we are unique ! We are the only island continent & our nation is made up of people with many different ethnic backgrounds , not just Asian.
Because of our location , the interaction between Australia & Asia as regards trade , culture , economics etc is strong & we have close relations with our neighbours but our society is still basicly european in format & English the national language !

Duh!!!!!
I get 5 thumbs down for considering the question stupid, you pricks... i bet you all sit on Ponsonby road sipping your lattes like they are you mothers titties.
I'm off to watch the Blacks trash the Aussies in HK. GO the Blacks

moon_maiden_24
I actually find it Ironic that some people are calling this question stupid while saying that Aboriginals can't be asian because they have dark skin or whatever. Asia is a diverse continent! Do Chinese and Indian people look alike? No but they are both Asian...However Australian aboriginals are not considered Asian...though they were thought to of come from Indonesia originaly...

It depends what you mean by "Asian". Geographically, Australia and NZ are either in Asia or Polynesia. Australia is by some standards part of southeast asia. Ethnically, Australia and NZ are primarily European. NZ Maori are Polynesian, Aborigines are Asians I think, Google it to be sure.
