The last convicts were transported to Australia in 1868 to Western Australia. |

Yes. Many countries still try to send convicts or people with criminal records to Australia under the guise of tourist. But we have very good border security and immigration department who stop them from coming in.
If you talking about the British... that stopped ages ago, mate. |

Cessation of transportation.
The last convict ship to be sent from England, the St. Vincent, arrived in 1853, and on 10 August 1853 Jubilee festivals in Hobart and Launceston celebrated 50 years of European settlement with the official end of transportation.
Transportation continued in small numbers to Western Australia. The last convict ship to arrive in Western Australia, the Hougoumont, left Britain in 1867 and arrived in Western Australia on 10 January 1868. In all, about 164,000 convicts were transported to the Australian colonies between 1788 and 1868. |

What? Australia is an independent country. Should any other government do that, that would be considered dumping. |

yes. yes they are. truthfully tho, the transportation of convicts was phased out between 1840 and 1868. |
|

Yes they still do send them here though nowadays we just take them out into the desert and let them die. Occasionally there is some kind of bureaucratic stuff-up and backpackers are sent out instead. We don't care though. Us Oshtrayans are tough. |

The last convicts arrived in 1868. By that time they were in the minority of the European population as free settlers have been arriving since 1791 or 1792. In the 1850s and 1860s tens of thousands of people arrived in the gold rushes. The last of the convicts transported to Australia died in 1917.
Australia has been more or less independent of Britain since 1901 and various acts of Parliament in the subsequent years have made it more independent. While it is still officially a constitutional monarchy it is in all but name a republic.
Even before 1901 the various colonies, New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria etc had their own parliaments, militias and even patent offices. |
