YES ---

Scorpionidae: scorpions
In some parts of the world scorpions are deadly but in Australia they generally give only a very painful sting. Few human deaths have been recorded in Australia resulting from scorpion stings.
Habitat
Scorpions are found all over Australia and many have become successful inhabitants of deserts. The desert species usually excavate burrows in the ground, often spiralling underground away from the entrance. Other species inhabit more forested environments where they can be found under rocks and logs and also under the bark of trees. |

Scorpions can be found just about everywhere in Australia, including Western Australia.
There have been no reported deaths from scorpion stings in Australia, but they can give a painful bite. |

Yes there are many different species of Scorpion in WA, in fact all over the Continent. They are the least of your worries as Mossies and flies are a huge pest.Red back spiders and the odd huntsman and wolf spider are house hunters so take care and always wear shoes that can stop the mossies biting your toes. When you go for a swim look out for the blue bottle stinger. Its advisable to have a bottle of vinegar in the bag to take the pain out of the sting but they do leave welts. I dont know how anybody lives there. |
