ballarat is a big city in victoria
taylors lake is a suburb near the airport
skye is an extremely outer suburb that's fairly close to the beach
herne hill is in WA
St Arnaud is a victorian town near horsham
Sale is a town towards lakes entrance in victoria
portland is a beach town near the victorian and south australian border, it's veyr nice, my school has a camp there. you can see whales
nilma is a town near moe
kyneton (not la kyneton) is a town kinda in between ballarat and bendigo
somerville is in the mornington peninsula
taylors lake is probably the only half decent suburb
it's still a fair way out from the CBD, it's definetly not upscale and very residential
if you're looking for upscale then the southern suburbs are what you're looking for because alot of them are on the beach |

ballarat is a country town
taylors lakes is just outside melb
La Kyneton (don't think its meant to have 'la' in front of it), is a country town
St Arnaud, do you mean St Albans - that is a melb suburb
I think Skye is a country town too
Sale is not a melbourne suburb
Upscale areas in melbourne are toorak and brighton
hope that helps |

Ballarat, StArnaud, Sale, Portland, Nilma, Kyneton are all regional towns in Victoria
Taylors Lake is a suburb of Melbourne out to the north west near Tullamarine airport
Skye is out near Frankston and Cranbourne and Somerville is further south
Herne Hill is a suburb of Geelong
Taylors Lake is the only one that I would consider a suburb of Melbourne |

Ballarat - City
Taylors Lakes - Suburb of Melbourne
Skye - Suburb of Melbourne
Herne Hill - Suburb of Geelong
St Arnaud - Town
Sale - City
Portland - City
Nilma - Town
Kyneton - Town
Somerville - Town
None of them are upscale areas in terms of residential and commercial aspect to my knowledge. Try Melbourne's Eastern and Southern Bayside suburbs for upscale areas. |

Agree that the only real Melbourne suburb is Taylors Lake. The other locations are towns and cities in rural Victoria. Nilma is a village on the outskirts of Warragul.
Taylors Lake is a new suburb in Melbourne and could be called relatively upscale residential area.
As the other locations are rural cities and towns there will be a mix of good and bad residential areas. Not sure what you're after on with the commecial aspect. All towns exist for different reasons, to support the farming and dairy industries, some have light industry, depend on tourism. Portland for instance has a well-known working harbour plus a smelter and other industry, and is a tourist town.
Why don't you try finding each town on a map? Googling each one will bring up information in terms of industry and products. |

they are towns, but i am pretty sure they are all in the state of victoria, just like melbourne is. |

Ballarat, St Arnaud, Portland & Sale are Provincial Cities. Kyneton is a Rural Town. Somerville was a Rural Town but may be a Suburb of Frankston. Herne Hill is a Suburb of Geelong. Taylors Lakes was a Housing Development but is now a Suburb between St. Albans & Keilor. I have never heard of Nilma.

these are SUBURBS but they call differently because theres too much of them
the majort thing in australias big cities is that theres large city centre and millions of houses around and to fing out in which area do you live they called them like that
we dont have this in UK |
