I am from Australia and I don't know how to speak German and I am the only one in my family that doesn't speak Russian. My dad was from Russia and my sisters and brothers all went to Russian school on Saturdays when they were children.I went to dancing lessons while they were at Russian school.

Yes I'm from Australia, I speak Czechoslovakian, Italian, Polish, Japanese, French, Eurasian fluently and basic Spanish. I have a lot of Russian and Belgian German friends and can pick up a few words from them. This year I promised myself to learn to speak fluent Portuguese. Australia is a very multicultural country and most Australians are bilingual in two to six languages. They teach you Japanese at School here in Australia

I'm Australian, and I speak English and Japanese.
Lots of schools in Australia teach Asian languages such as Japanese or Indonesian - I've never met any Aussies that speak German or Russian though it would be handy!
