No not really. I remember about this time in 1991 it was 43.5C in Perth and stayed in the +40 range for around a week.
A few hot days in the Bleak City is nothing to do with global warming. |

LOVE summer...the hotter the better. |

Hmm, hotter than usual weather, massive air conditioning and use of electricity for pool, plus use of water ... connect the dots, multiply yourself by all your neighbours and wonder why its getting hotter. LOL |

I feel the same way in Cairns although our temp wasn't as high the humidity is a killer. Thank God for Air Con - it's always set at 25 degrees... I basically have it on from 7am till midnight everyday! |

It's so hot here in W.A. I think it was 42 today. I used to have a pool in my old house, but luckily I've got great air conditioning here. |

Well I don't have a pool or an air conditioner and I also don't remember it being this hot since I was about 14 years old and then spent every day at the surf swimming. I just got back from queensland and would like to return to get away from the heat. Victoria sucks at the moment |

I'm in Sydney and, if anything, it's been cooler then usual. We've struggled to get over 30 all summer.
You're just copping it down there. |

Gotta love summer, but being 33 degrees at 10:15 at night is a bit extreme. I think tomorrows goin to be hotter |

Melbourne and other parts of southern Australia have been having a hot summer but further north, temperatures have been below average. January is Melbourne's hottest month with 80% of maximum temperatures between 19.3 and 35.5°C. February is slightly cooler. The highest ever temperature was 45.6° on January 13th 1939. Some years are hot, some are cooler. This is one of the hotter ones but just because it is happening in Melbourne doesn't mean it's happening everywhere - it isn't. |

No. in brisbane we had all that lovely rain and i had to put warm clothes on and have hot showers.
Then it got humid (90%) but not high in temperature.
Melbourne and Adelaide are having it pretty bad. |

I don't think it is hotter "than usual". Some years it gets very hot and some year it doesn't. Also, it is only very hot on isolated days - not VERY hot all the time.
I remember a time when it was 45 in southern New South Wales. Of course, it was just one particular day.
Depends on how old you are will determine if you remember any really hot days and your perception of "hotter than usual"
Cheers |

Gosh you poor things down there. We usually have that sort of temperature on The Gold Coast but somehow we have been reprieved this year. With all our rain it has kept our temperatures down. Lucky us. |

It isn't unusual for us to get the ODD 40'c day ... but it's generally in Feb. BUT we have already have had a few , makes me a little concerned re the weather in Feb,
I don't mind so much so long as I can escape a little .. and it isn't humid |
