I lived in Sydney for about 6months. There were stabbings and etc in Blacktown. I lived in Penrith. I live in Dunedin now and I'd like to think we're pretty safe here. The gangs in NZ i'd say just fight between themselves, stay friendly, but not too friendly (if you know what I mean) I'd say you've chosen the safer country. But of course there is crime every where you look. |

Australia is by and large a pretty safe country. There is a higher crime rate in some small, deprived pockets in the cities but that's the same anywhere. Poor people who turn to crime usually prey on their own neighbours. You're welcome to the Mongrel Mob and their mates, Black Power and the Hell's Angels - good luck! As for non-gang-related crime in NZ - how about this poor kid? "A New Zealand toddler at the centre of a national debate on child abuse has died in hospital from her injuries. Three-year-old Nia Glassie from Rotorua had been on life support since her admission to Auckland's Children's Hospital last weekend. The toddler was allegedly the victim of repeated beatings and ill-treatment in the family home for three weeks prior to her admission to hospital last weekend with severe head injuries. During that time police believe she had been hung from a clothes line and spun in a tumble dryer." Nice, huh??? |

I'd believe the creationists about as much as I'd believe the greenleft rag. Blacktown is probably the one of the worst areas in New South Wales with the exception of Kings Cross. |
