Australia or Germany?
I'm planning to move next Summer. But I can't decide either to move to Australia or Germany! Where do YOU think I should move?...

Depends on you citizenship, age and qualifications. If you have a passport from any EC Country the Germany is OK. The Australians are more choosy about who they let in. I suggest you check with the Australian Government Website. There is an online application form for a residence permit and work permit. Fill it in and you will discover whether or not you will be permitted to emigrate or not. Google "Emigrate to Australia" will take you to it. Both are delightfull countries but In Germany English is not as widely understood as you might expect. Ian M |

Australia or Austria? If you mean Australia, there is a giant difference between Australia and Germany. Australia is a mixture between Miami South Beach and L.A and San Franscico, Germany is 2000 years of History and Technology, more on the serious side. If you like outdoors - Australia If you like to expand your mind - Germany |

First that depend on what type of climate you prefer. Then getting a job in Germany as an American is not that easy. I work Security for the Army and we see it all the time. Guys getting out, staying here and then having problems getting a job. In Germany you have to learn a job which means you have to go to vocational school for at least 2 years and at the same time being taught at a company. The pay during that time really really sucks. Most Germans do speak English. Kids start learning a second language latest by the 5th grade. Some places they start teaching a foreign language in Kindergarten. So if you wanna move over here, know all your options! Learn German and then you can come over. Germany has allot to show and allot to teach and there are fests most of the year. |

But Why?? |
we have real beer in Australia. The reason why Germans have Oktoberfest is because the piss is watered down, thats why everybody and their grandmas are seen drinking schooners of it. |

I like Australia more because of it's fantastic wildlife and scenery. Germany is close to countries and you can experience their culture. |

AUSTRALIA! BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD! nah its up to you, i have never been to germany, my best friend is german though even if she was born in Australia, she has been there. if you dont like heat i wouldnt recomend coming to Aus, it gets up to 40 degrees here and i live near the most southernest point in mainland australia, and if you planning to move to QLD or NT i dont tihnk you should come, you'll die from the heat. Germany should be fine though if you like the cold |

well thing is Australia is really hot so if heat isnt your thing i wouldnt suggest australia. On the other hand you can speak the language there versus germany where unless you know german its hard to get around believe me i would know i live in germany. But there also is a lot more history in germany and its easier to travel in europe so really it all comes down to what you like. |

hmm.... before decided... where u stay now?? the place where u stay is near Germany or Australia?? i prefer to move to a place which difference culture and difference climate or even difference life style from where i stay... so that i can learn some thing new at the same time~~ so for me i decided to go to Australia.... becos there got want I'm looking for.... there got the things and people which my own country doesn't have.... but i cant said Germany not good enough so just the communication will become the main problem.... cos i don't know how to speak Germany ^^ if these two places were similar life style like where u stay now... why not look for some places which totally difference?? heehee try some thing new.... since you got a plan to move.... right.... ^^ |

I would pick Germany, but only because I lived there for two years with my husband who is in the Air Force. It's not hard to get around and you would pick up some the language very quickly - I did. We were able to go all over the Europe in the 2 years that we lived there because everything is so close. We drove to Paris in about 5 hours!! There is a lot of history there and lots to see and do. |
