Australia or new zealand which has made the better tv shows?

if New Zealand made good shows they'd probably be broadcast here in Australia, the only one i watch is Motorway Patrol, which is a good 'cops' styled show

Our main show is SHORTLAND STREET its a hospital show that sucks *** and has been around for years every NZ person knows it, one good show would be OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE it a criminal drama comedy. but we created all the reality shows that you see theses days, we were the first IDOL creators, the first big brother show was in a apartment building in wellington i think and was broadcast over the net, we had treasure island way before survivor! so the world copied us caus we are poor and couldnt make it big time,, but hey we got Peter Jackson and the lord of the rings BET THAT!

Which country makes the least worst? NZ I expect because they make less TV than Australia. Don't ask me, my TV must be starving because it only gets turned on for a few hours a week.

Sorry Richo Fev - the guy above you is correct; Popstars did come out of New Zealand first! TrueBliss were around WAAAAY before Bardot. The company that made the show in NZ then sold off the rights and similar shows were made everywhere.

I would say, on a world scale, neither one of them have any good TV shows. New Zealand has Bro Town which is hilarious if you get it, but if it were to be broadcast in the US for example, it would probably get pulled after one episode because no-one would understand it.

Australia makes a lot more TV shows, and this is simply because the government has set quotas specifying how much content must be local. This tends to mean that in general, the quality of the shows is quite poor because the broadcasters and producers only have very limited funds out of which they have to squeeze quite a lot of programming.

So ... I'm going to vote NZ for the simple reason that they did, in fact, give musical reality TV shows to the world!!! Actually as I recall, NZ also makes some very good documentaries as well.

Australia has some pretty good comedy shows, such as "Thank God You're Here" etc. And, there are also the soaps, Neighbours, Home and Away etc. McLeod's Daughter's is another Aussie Drama.

Can't really say I've seen my NZ tv?

I can't say that I know of any TV shows from New Zealand...so I will have to say Austalia simply because I watch Neighbours...though I don't know of any other TV shows from there!
