People underestimate the size of australia, and the amount of land that is actually taken up by people residing there.

It is probably larger now.
There are over 60 different species of kangaroo and their close
relatives. While it is impossible to determine the exact number of
kangaroos in Australia, the population of (just) the four most common
species is thought to be more than 50 million. That's what i read, but due to drought etc. I doubt there would be that many. I also know that their population has flunctuated from about 15-50 million. I personally, Would put them at about 25-30 million now.
Don't bother with a ratio. It used to be about 1:3 probably, but not anymore.

There used to be about two kangaroos per person (50 million kangaroos, 21 million people), but due to our severe drought over the last few years there is now about 1 to 1 (approx 25 million kangaroos). They are culled regularly in good years to reduce the numbers as they breed explosively.

I heard that there are 3 sheep for everyone 1 person in Austrailia, but I don't know about kangaroos. Try searching for "kangaroo population" and you might be able to find some numbers... then you can just compare to the numbers for people populations. Good luck!

there sure is. It is really hard to drive on the roads and avoid the roo's. Damn things are everywhere. Go into the city and they are just bounding down the streets. Damn things are such a pest. That is why all cars must have Roo Bars on them. Hit a roo without one and it is bye bye car. Between them and the drop bears you have to have eyes everywhere. Not sure on the ratio but I think it is roughly 3:1

LOL! I don't think so, then again I may be wrong as I live in the suburbs and all the Kangaroo's are probably in the outback.

there are almost as much kangaroos to people but they were culled because theere were too many and they were annoying, they are not everywhere like a lot of americans and other people think, they are only in the bush and the outback. none anywhere near a town/city.
