I love Vegemite on toast or on really fresh white bread with real butter and don't find it too salty at all. The trick is to spread it very thinly - 'just a scratch' is how my Mum puts it.

It's also great on buttered Vitawheat biscuits. You put two together and squeeze them so the vegemite/butter wriggles out of the holes in the Vitawheats. Then you lick that off and throw away the biscuits. LOL

I find that it's usually the only thing I can eat when I'm sick and don't have any appetite.

Love it. On toast with lots of butter or on fresh bread. You only spread a little bit on though, that's the mistake alot of people make, spreading it on real thick like peanut butter YUCK. Vegemite & cheese sandwiches on fresh bread are also yummy

lots of aussies hate vegemite. heaps and heaps. you either like it or absolutely hate it. its just stereotype that we all eat it. & yes it's way too salty for me
vegemite on toast is pretty standard stuff. you woudn't eat it on anything other than bread. it would ruin it. but that's just personal opinion.

Love it - toast with butter and vegemite is my breakfast every morning. It's also a great snack spread between Premium biscuits, or in a sandwich.

Dan
I don't like it personally. No reason.

Em L
I only like it on cold toast (yes I know, wierd- but i hate melted butter), lots of 'real' butter and only a small amount of vegemite. :-)
Not everyone likes it but you have to know how to put it on toast (and only toast) right- it's not like jam or peanut butter!

The vegemite census!

I personally adore it and have a secret little way I eat it that I think is delicious.
I cook up plain flavoured pancakes and smother them in butter or marg, the butter ends up melting and going runny.
Then I spread a good helping of vegemite on top and that melts into the melted butter.

Vegemite & Butter Pancakes.....DE-LISH!

Love it, for me it is definitely one of those things that you can eat when you don't feel like anything else.
I love it on toast with lots of butter or marg. I don't think its salty if you don't put too much on. Just a little bit, you don't need too much.

Mel
I wouldn't say I love it, its only food.

I like it very sparce on toast, thats the only way I eat it.
