Only in WA and the ACT. Today is the public holiday elsewhere.

ANZAC Day is a day of remembrance, it does not need a day off it only occurs on that very day.

Nope, well its definently not in NSW. Today is the public holiday.

Not in QLD

But it has raised another question, as I have just read that Centrelink is closed on Monday....

Quote:
Centrelink management have confirmed that Monday 27th will be observed as the official ANZAC Day holiday

I got Monday off and I work in Victoria, it's because my workplace is on a federal award as opposed to a state award.

chocchipcookie808
yes, and no. if you live in SOUTH AUSTRALIA, it doesn't apply.
In other states, monday the 27th is a public holiday because the anzac day is moved from the saturday to the monday. therfore, the saturday isnt a public holiday the monday is instead. BUT in south australia, that doesn't apply. the public holiday is on the saturday, and the monday the 27th is a normal everyday day..no public holiiday!!
:D:P:) i hope i helped.
