I like "Before too long," reminds me of when I was a kid, I think it got played at like every BBQ we went to!

dumb things then to her door

The reason for dumb things - is that is reminds me of all the dumb things i have done and that i am not alone

I used to know one of his brothers and met him a few times a looooong time ago. Wow. It really was a lifetime ago.

It's hard to pick a favourite, but Adelaide would probably be it. It was one of the first songs I learned on the guitar, and it was released during a very big time in my life. All of his stuff is great though. One can't mention Paul Kelly without also mentioning one of his beautifully co-written songs with the great Kev Carmody, From Little Things, Big Things Grow. I also really liked Treaty, which he co-wrote with some of the boys from Yothu Yindi.

Great question :-)

Hi Thing! I don't know the name of it, but it's about doing something terrible and regretting it. Some women recorded it - Tiddas maybe? My memory's hopeless.

To Her Door for sure

i think every f'ing city. it sums up something in the life of so many young australians, travelling around europe, often with friends, often getting into fights with them....

Before too long
It just strikes a deep emotional chord... from hope to melancholy, back to hope, and all that.
Not so much in the lyrics, which are obvious, but mainly in the tune and structure of the song.
A truly brilliant composition :)
