ok i am making some grand assumptions about you here, but you didn't give me much info to go on...

Stay at Bunk, it is a backpackers in Fortitude Valley, attached to a bar named Birdee Num Num and very cool if you are here to have a good time.

cafe/eat/bar hop in the valley.

shop in the city. take a trip on the city cat and check out the rest of the city.

Check out Southbank for Gallery of Modern Art, Museum and this weird man made beach.

Go to Lone Pine Koala Santuary (near fig tree pocket - get a bus from Queen St Mall in the City)

Go to the one of the meets at the Winter Racing Carnival - Eagle Farm or Doomben (both tracks are beside each other - get the train).

Spend some time on the Gold Coast - you can get bus/train from Roma St station.

Do something interesting when in Brisbane. Go on a Ghost Tour of Toowong Cemetery. Very Creepy and Very Cool!

The new modern gallery is nice too, and tourists really like South Bank too (that's were the fake beach is)

Bloody hell people you are giving this poor person for saying bro and sis?? Whats the go with that?? Our aboriginals use those terms and so do we! As well as bloke, missus,mate,cobber,dude......etc Get a bloody life!
So mate to answer your question...you are coming to Australia and you are going to stay in the city??? Come west mate and then you will have a good time!! For our animals though head north to Beerwah( just a couple hours, if that from brissy) and go to the Australian Zoo...you know Steve Irwin..??

Has hostels in the area. As for things to do, I would go and search for things to do in brisbane online. I do know they have a fake beach there. Theres a museum. A cool looking bridge you can walk over. I rented a two seater bicycle when I was there and that was SOOOO much fun! Half the fun was trying to ride together. So if you are with someone, I would recommand that. Had a blast even though I didnt think there was a lot to do there, but then again I was only there for two days and a night!

Gee with talk like that, you need to change if your coming to Brisbane. Another one coming to Brisbane, why bother. Lack of drinking water at present, dont you watch the news?
