Can I See Snow In Melbourne on March?

Hi! I will be in Melbourne in a few weeks and I wanted to try snowboarding or skiing in Melbourne. Is there any mountain resort or skiing resort open in March?

Show all answers

ll_jenny_ll here
It's not likely as March can still be hot ... However nor is it impossible .. ( we have had snow at christmas before though not enough to do what you want to do).....

Some of the resorts may be open BUT with no snow just for tourist accommodation.

And to the first person that answered the question .. Are you aware that Melbourne Florida is actually named after Melbourne Victoria in Australia, .....

A man who lived in Melbourne Victoria in the 1800's ( I think during the first Gold rush years ..) went to Florida and had a postal service in the area where your Florida now is .. He had loved OUR melbourne so much that he gave the area you are from the name of Melbourne .. SO THERE'S THE LINK :D

Here's a thought, since you're online anyway, why not google it and see for yourself?

No you wont see snow in Melbourne Au at all.

The ski season doesn't start Until mid June & then we quite often dont' have snow then either.

The big hills are also 3 hours from Melbourne. I cant call them mountains I'm married to a Kiwi & to him there big hills in Australia.

zafir
No, it never snows in Melbourne.

The closest snow in winter is in the Australian Alps, about 3 hours drive north east of Melbourne - Mt Buller, Mt Hotham etc. Winter is from June to end August

NO WAY !!!!!!!!!!!!

It never snows in Melbourne, VIC (I hope your aren't talking about the Florida town).

Winter here is Summer in Europe / The US.

You can't see snow anywhere in Australia in March.

jonny n
it has snowed there in the past but not real good snow only like frozen rain id call it semi snow.

ski season start in like june july by the way

Sammy
No... come back in July/August.

Today is is 37 degrees celsius in Melbourne. Which is nearly 100 F.

And you have to travel at least 1 1/2 hours out of Melbourne to
get to a ski resort.

TinaT- why would you think we were talking about Melbourne Florida if this is posted in VICTORIA (MELBOURNE)??
