Radio Rentals have a deal at the moment where they are doing no credit checks so might be worth checking them out.
I was with them for a few years, and it helped me save up to buy my own appliances and furniture while renting theirs!

You can't do anything with bad credit. Save up!

The quick answer to your question is YES. Places like Radio Rentals will rent anyone anything without checking for a credit history.

BUT: If it is that easy to get things without proof that you can pay for it, then there is usually a cost. It may be that they reposess easily and then stick you with a huge bill. It could be that the cost of hire is enormous.
Whatever the catch, do some homework when you get here.

It may be better for you to save a few extra dollars and find something in the trading post or weekend shopper. At least you will own the item and can sell it if you decide to return to NZ.

l dont know if credit reports would be on it from o/seas, any way radio rentals every other month do a no credit check so you would be fine, when you get here request a credit report from baycorp, they are free if you are willing to wait a few weeks for it.

Yes. You can rent appliances from Rent-A-Center.
Visit their website at www.rentacenter.com To rent appliances or furniture etc. You will need a place to live so you would neede to show proof of residency such as a lease agreement, deed etc. You will also need a job or show some income coming in such as a pay stub or any other documents to show you receive money on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. I hope this helps!

Radio Rentals are currently advertising on TV, about No Credit checks, so you may be OK, with them.

Their normal policy does include credit checks, but I doubt if they can check an overseas credit history.

I know they can't for people coming from the UK.
