Can someone tell me what Noosa is really like? |
I've mentioned to my aussie friend the possibility of visiting Noosa next year. However he warned me about (quote) "the high end stuck up snobs that roam the area". Sorry, I dont mean to offend anyone... my friend is a bit "anti-prep" or whatever have you. So could someone tell me what to expect? |

noosa is a nice place, however there are much better places to go to along that coast, of coarse it depends on what you are looking for, but noosa is very expensive and very busy. a lot of young families.
i recommend mooloolaba it is a much nicer beach and a lot less busy.
best time to go to the sunshine coast is mid year |

Personally - as Cat said, I prefer to stay at Maloolaba or Maroochydore. I don't know about Noosa being "stuck up"because I don't know anyone who lives there but my family lived in the mountain area by the Sunshine Coast and said Noosa was more expensive. They have "trendy" cafes and that sort of thing and accommodation, eating out etc. is more expensive. It is nevertheless a lovely place - as is the whole Sunshine Coast. I have always found all Queenslanders very friendly so I find it hard to think any would come across as "snobby". |

Noosa is great if your criterion for a quality experience is an appropriate range of coffee shops. It is a fabulous place spoiled by the people who go there. |

Personally, I don't know why people rave on about Noosa.
There's nothing wrong with the place but I'd prefer to spend time at other places on the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and numerous places further north, all the way up the coast. |

Yeh, I'd have to agree with your mate a bit - it is a bit "upper class". But the beach is still pretty good and theres heaps to see and do in the area. So you can still have a good time ... |

Well to me it's ok, i don't think it is anything special, i guees there are some stuck up one's there, nice beaches but otherwise nothing special to me. |

its where the now prime minister use to reside a lot, so it does say something about being "upper class". I went one time, awesome weather and great beaches, small little shops and def a cool town, worth a visit before actually moving there! |

It is fairly pretentious, and highly overrated.
I'd rather go to Surfer's Paradise. |
