Bondi Beach.
(Pronounced: Bonn-dye)
Google map link below. You get off the train and walk down a very step hill to the beach. It's curved, like a crescent, so all the wave energy is concentrated towards the beach (making it good to surf). There are shops lining the road (in fact, I'm wearing a Bondi Beach t-shirt today which I bought in 1998!)
I found a video online too. Audio in French. Enjoy.

Bondi Beach would be the most over rated tourist attraction (no not attraction) spot there is. When I went there it was dirty, and unkempt. I have seen plenty of other places better than that. Horseshoe Bay, Port Elliot, South Australia would be one of the best.
