Can you get a job in Australia with a College Degree from United States?

Okay. I want to move to Australia but I want to go to college in the U.S. Could I get a job in Australia with a college degree in the united states? A good job?

In order for you to get a work visa, your degree will need to qualify you for an occupation in which workers are in demand in Australia and you will also need to have experience. Depending on your field, you may need to do additional study in Australia in order to obtain a good job.

It's much better if you can do your last couple of years at university here as Australian qualifications are more highly regarded for immigration and employment purposes and earn higher points on our points test.

to immigrate to australia you must be skilled and experienced in an occupation australia needs and pass the points test

Well at the moment it's tough to find a job in Australia. I live in Australia and have an Australian university degree and I can't get a job! The feed back I'm getting is that they like me and I'm qualified but have no hands on experience. Experience seems to be what employers want now. It's tough to get experience when you can't find work to begin with. This has happened to a lot of other people I know as well. They are having to settle for jobs far below what they're qualified for in order to work. So unless you have an Ivy league college behind you or a lot of experience I think you would find it difficult to get a job.

Depends what the degree is in.

To move to Australia as a permanent resident you need to meet the skilled occupation list. http://www.immi.gov.au Usually you will require experience as well.

It will depend on the course and the school.

Well, the CEO of Telstra was an American.... depends what sort of degree you have and what money you'd expect to make, but it shouldn't be a problem.

you would probably be better of studying in Australia, as the Australian qualifications are actually recognised in more countries than the American ones, you would be required to sit numerous exams for your qualifications to be recognised here.
Also University degrees do not guarantee you a high income in Australia, my fiance is a qualified teacher but drives buses for a living because it pays more and my stepfather quit his job as a photoelectric engineer because he could get better pay and working conditions in the socalled unskilled jobs
