Customs in Perth. crisps, chocolate and gravy?

I'm off to Perth in June to stay with family

My cousin is over there and has asked me to bring some walkers crisps, bisto gravy and cadburys chocolate because she can't get them over there!

I have heard customs are strict, I've searched for information on whether I can take them but can't find anything... can anyone help? Am I allowed to take crisps, gravy and chocolate into the country?
Additional Details
Thanks everyone :-)

Yes Perth in Australia! Apparantly she can't get them and is pining for them! Unless she is having me on!

Crisps & chocolate no problems, but the gravy might be an issue - depends on the ingredients. Just declare the lot & let Quarantine decide.

BTW, we do have Cadbury's chocolate in Australia, what planet is your cousin on? Maybe you can suggest to her that there's a British shop in Cannington that would have all the stuff she's after. (Can't remember what it's called sorry). There's also another one in Floreat:

http://www.bestofbritish.com.au/

Walkers crisps $1.60 a packet
Bisto gravy powder $5.95 for 170g
Cadbury's chocolate - bl00dy expensive!!!!

My wife once asked me to bring her back some Maykway curry powder from the UK - boy did I get some hassle at Perth airport over that one!!

You'll be fine getting them through - I understand what she means about the chocolate, we have Cadburys here (I'm in Sydney) but its different than English Cadburys, I think ours is better though but each to their own.
As for the crisps, do they still have baked bean flavour and ice cream flavour?
You can get all of those in Speciality Shops within the city though and I am sure Perth, with there high population of English residents would have a few, although they can be pricey.
Just don't bring over Pork Scratchings, they won't get through!

Yes it should be fine, worse comes to worse if you find out that you do have a product your not allowed to bring in, just declare it on your customs and instead of getting a fine the worst they can do is get rid of it. But as far as cadbury's chocolate i have NO idea why she would want you to bring over it as it is EVERYWHERE its one of those chocolates that every australian knows and eats so im confused as to why she cant get it here

Ranjeeh D
For simplicity declare them.

They won't have any problems with those items, I get exactly the same brought in by visitors. There will be some dumb looks from the quarantine people in regard to Bisto, but not from those that know better.

Manufactured food products that are still in sealed manfacturer's packaging from countries not deemed to be a health hazard are usually allowed in.

So I would not expect any problem with the kinds of products you mention (just don't open the packets on the plane for a snack!).

It's fresh food like meat & fruit, or things like dried vegetables that tend to get confiscated.

Do you mean Perth in Australia? If you're coming via Sydney, you can get all those products there.

Try it and if they forbid you tell them they have to eat it and your not leaving until they do. That will cure em.

and yes you can bring them in through customs

As long as it doesn't have fruit nuts or honey you may be ok. Bring it but declare it. There is no problem of getting into trouble if you declare all food items. If they are not happy with any of the items they will simply take them off of you and then you move on through

i live in Perth and they are very strict on food stuff , you may get it in or you may not , just make sure you declare it, there is a bin on a walk way where you come through before hitting customs, also where ever you are try contacting your local air port see if they have any quarintine brochures
dont think you are allowed chocolate , but we have cadburys chocolate here or potatoe chips not sure of other , but put them in a see through plastic bag so they can see its sealed
they may allow, but with all the equine flu and bird flu plus the beef thing in britain they are taking extra measures here and they also have sniffer dogs at airport that will check you out personally and your luggage so you wont sneak it in
