Do Austalian Men find American Women/ their accents sexy??

I've heard that Australian Women go crazy for American men, whether it's true or not. I know I go crazy for Australian men, haha. But do Australian men find american women as appealing. Of course I know this doesn't apply to everyone

Hmm....dont want to burst your bubble
but everyone I have ever talked to finds American accents rather 'loud and obnoxious'.
I travelled with my American boyfriend to Europe and spend most of the time being embarassed at how loud and awful he sounded.
I recently went to Paris and an American couple sat next to me and I cringed everytime they spoke. It almost seems like the need everyone in the room to know what they are saying and didnt care who they bothered.

I suppose it depends on the person and the place.
I think some of the girls sound really cute if it is not too sharp or loud.

Well, now I know that when I visit Australia in the spring (a trip I have been looking VERY forward to) I will do my best to speak quietly and listen more than talk! My goal is to meet Australians and learn about them, just like I do here at home in California. Can't wait to see you all!

I can't help but notice how "patriotic" most of the responses are here. Australians generally find Americans as being rather ignorant, loud and perhaps even arrogant. But NOT in a hostile way. And to be brutally honest most other countries see Aussies as being just the same.

As far as the accent goes... generally speaking I think you will find that it's TRUE. A foreign accent is sexy/interesting. Even though most may outwardly deny it their behaviour will proove otherwise. As far as women are concerned though having travelled abroad so much I can't help but find that by comparison the Aussie accent is rather un-feminine and a heavy Aussie accent on a woman can actually be a real turn -off for some. There is a top Aussie comedy called "Cath and Kim" which plays heavily upon this.

not sure that an accent makes you sexy, years ago i had the privilege to hang out with a couple of chicks from California while holidaying on the gold coast, both were attractive and quietly spoken (great bodies) and lovely girls who id say were definately sexy but only because they had great personality's and great attitudes towards Aussies and being in a different country-not loud know all's,so don't stress on the accent concentrate on how you act and behave and guy's will flock to you.

Sorry, but for this particular Australian man, the accents I find sexy are Irish, some Scottish accents, French and South African. I don't have an objection to most American accents, but it's not an advantage in my book.

We get an awful lot of American TV over here, so an American accent is not at all exotic.

I'm American, and from experience our accent isn't very much liked especially by the British, Australian, South African, etc. We do have a reputation of being loud and obnoxious, so just try to show them that not all Americans are like that. I've been living in Europe for 8 years now, and a lot of people say I don't seem to be American because I can hold intelligent conversations and I'm soft-spoken!

American accents are strident and unpleasant. Unless you are from the South...

Not generally.

Australian men figure that American women are
loud
fat
ignorant
extremely hairy in comparison with Australian women
masculine

Of course that's all a stereotype, but it's what you're up against. They think of American women as being something between a man and a woman in Australian terms.
